  1. Wrip computer problem

I've tried all them things and I seriously think this is Vista slowing things down. I have 4 other computers on our network running XP and they are super fast. I don't really wanna do a system wipe on this computer but it must be costing easily an extra 30 -45 minutes a day waiting for this...
  2. Mutoh 1204

I would check the pump is pulling ink through to the waste tank. I have found if the workshop is warm the ink can dry in the drain lines, causing blockages. I pour some cleanining fluid on to the capping station pad and allow to soak all the way through the pump and outlet lines. Sometimes you...
  3. Wrip computer problem

We have a dual core 2.6 ghz computer with 4gb of Ram 500gb hard drive and a ati radeon 512mb graphics. Over the past year it has got slower and slower to the point it is now crawling. All the RIP files are stored on our server and their is over 3/4 of the hard drive empty at all times. It has...
  4. What is wrong with customers!!

The Design was made years ago he just wanted it updated. Only to go and have the usual stuff he gets put on it. SC
  5. What is wrong with customers!!

I have had this client for the last 10 years, who has a little business which he runs round in a car derived van offering his services to local garages and bodyshops. He came into our shop on about October last year with a new car derived van and wanted a new idea...... but it had to incorporate...
  6. Blocked Nozzle on VJ1604

Basically I have been placing a couple of small pieces of lint free cloth onto the capping station then pour some cleaning fluid from one of the cleaning cartridges and then reposition the print head. Then repeat every hour. I don't like leaving it over night to soak as sometimes I get cross...
  7. Blocked Nozzle on VJ1604

We have had our VJ1604 since October 2007 and in this time it has and still is a stunning machine. Over the last few months I have had lines in our blue and green prints. This I know to be caused by blocked jets on the cyan. When doing a test print Magenta and Yellow are perfect. We have one...
  8. Looking for a Convex Supplier

Hi all I am based in the UK and all the suppliers over here cannot get me material for the next 2 weeks plus. I am desperate to find a US supplier that could send me some of this over? The material is:- Convex Hibond Print material 29" Pro-Shield 12 27" Thanks SC
  9. phone book

I dropped all advertising in the phone book/yellow pages as it worked out in a year we were making £140 out of an advert that costs us £800! we ran a survey for a year asking every customer where they had heard of us. SC
  10. Lancer G1 Eco solvent printer

We have a Lancer G2 which is a Mutoh Valuejet 1604. I believe the G1 is a 1304 or a 1204. It should flash up on the LCD screen what model it is. Basically the only difference is the fact that they have been painted blue! The company that supplied these has gone bust, which is a good thing as...
  11. Removing Vinyl

Here is what I do..... Put in a realistic estimate for removal (please note an estimate not a quote) of graphics. The customer will normally complain, so you offer them the use of your workshop after work hours for him to take them off, just lighting, electric and chemicals to pay for. Usually...
  12. Do you charge for white vinyl? (LOL)

I get this a t least once a week. Usually I ask them how much they have to spend? Then I laugh and put the phone down. Obviously this guy doesn't have any value of his business or ours. SC
  13. Figuring out a street bike font

Kawasakis ZZR is not a font it is a logo! You may find something similair though..... good luck SC
  14. Mutoh RJ-900c

Water Based printer useless for outdoor applications. Uses special expensive self adhesive vinyls! SC
  15. "Glasses Free" 3D Technology

I reckon that would give you R.S.I. of the eye lid. I hope and pray this is fake as I wouldn't want a machine that uses electricity to invoke a muscular movement so close to your brain. Absolutley nuts. SC
  16. Hondas new Technology

Yes just like Wal-eeeee but the girls demo-ing them are a tad slimmer---------------Well they are the moment! Then you wonder why humans have to go to the gym and exercise when we keep building things like this. Cool but pointless.! SC
  17. I'm looking for Eco-Ultra Ink Compatible

I have been using Lyson/Nazdar inks in my 1604 for over a year nowand the savings are great. Our machine is over 3 years old and it prints as good as the day it was bought this has been the best thing we ever purchased for the business. I certainly do not agree with the above comments on the...
  18. signlab trouble...not sure

I would break the objects path and then change start/finish node. Signlab throws issues like this but very rarely on something so simple. SC
  19. Graphtec or Gerber?

I would go for the Graphtec. They are built like a brick s**t house and will run forever. SC
  20. Just bought a Designjet 5500UV 60"

I wouldn't bother trying to laminate a banner. It is one of the best materials these machines print onto and it lasts fairly well. Please remember a banner is a temporary sign I will not guarantee a banner for more than 3 months and that is of a solvent machine. SC
