Get the customer to repaint the rear.
You are a signmaker not a painter. Each to his own job.
Don't try to sort it yourself as you will end out of pocket.
You need a smooth non porrous surface or the adhesive will fail.

Oh dear.
It is a water based printer which needs special substrate and if it has to last anytime at all has to be overlaminated.
These are great for printing internal posters but most certainly are not up to the job of printing external stickers.
This machine was not built to make stickers or...
Screeeeaaaammm.............
I have this of clients at least twice a week.
They send you a sh***y raster file, so you ask for a vector.
They ask in what format and you tell them "AI, EPS or PDF"
This is always what you get back the same raster file inside one of the above files!!!!!!
I have...
Their is a car dealer across the way from us that bought a chinese plotter and started plastering his car in vinyl.
It was always soooo funny going past seeing lettering going over handles and round on to tailgates and bonnets (hoods).
And some of the strangest colour combinations ever. such as...
We get these clients in all the time.
Even though they charge Tax themselves they don't want to pay it when they buy something.
Show them the door... You really don't need custom like this.
We have just had a tax rise of 2.5% in the UK putting tax up to an all time high of 20%.
Since...
I worked for a company who employed a designer and he admitted their was "nothing like a new idea"!!!
He would come in on Monday morning armed with about half a dozen magazines that he purchased over the weekend to steal/alter ideas of.
I did a weird thing about 5 years ago were my work partner...
I am going to charge more........
I'm not going to change anything else this year as I always start the year with a list of goals and I haven't seen me meet any of them by the end.
I've put of the increasing cost of supplies and with the impending VAT increase in the UK from tomorrow things are...
Have you used wrap material on what is basically flat panels?
I realise there are dome fixings on the panels but to be quite honest I have found that wrap material doesn't stay put on them anyway.
Just seem bit excessive using wrap material.
Great design.....
How does a plumber have his vehicle...
Vista was and still is a problem.
I have just sorted something similair for an old friend but we had to get a machine running XP before it would work!
My advice and maybe it's the sensible option is switch back to XP unless you want to start writing your own driver for it?!!
I wouldn't be to...
I've been int his business for 26 years now!
I started with one of the biggest sign shops in our area as an engraver and profiller.
I got p****d when this company got greedy after I had managed to be running 3 machines non stop all day long and were still wanting to know what I was doing every...
I have just binned my girlfriends laptop after two and a half years of use!
Annoying as it cost over £600.
It will cost more to repair than it's worth (motherboard fault)!!!
On picking it up from the service guy he reckoned laptops last between 2-3 years then something goes seriously wrong.
He...
I thought Coro and Black Vinyl is fairly standard stuff to have in stock as a signmaker?!
The 2 weeks before Christmas I have an excess of "want it now customers"
I would get used to it!

I looked at Signlab 8 when it first came out but couldn't see any difference either.
I have been given a good offer to upgrade our 3 copies of 7.1 but I will not be using Signlabs RIP so it seems like money wasted.
SC
So if like me you aren't using Signlabs RIP it isn't worth the upgrade!!!!!!
I truly was hoping for something new.
Maybe I was hoping they had tidied up the rough way Signlab renders to the screen.
I may spend the money on Corel or something similair.
SC
I have just noticed Signlab 9.0 has been released.
We are still on version 7.0!!!!
And so far I have only ever upgraded every other version so is it time to change?
I learned a long time ago Signlab was way too complicated as a RIP so I don't want it for that I will be using it as a design...
Yes we all love our own printers and yes a full solvent printer should last way longer then an ecosol.
I used his machines when they were brand new so it should be no heater issues.
He was using original inks and printing onto 3M materials. So Inks and materials are not an issue.
We had issues...
I used my friends JV3 and JV33 for a while and unlaminated prints wouldn't last any longer than 1 year if they were looked after! My Mutoh Valuejet prints last a whole lot longer than that you could probably get 3 years if looked after properly.
I guess anyone who has a solvent or ecosol printer...
