When an EPS file is created, gradient fills turn into a multitude of solid objects. My guess is the designer before was designing in another program and importing EPS files into Corel.
...or are about 90% of the posts on this site these days about requesting font ID's, or what plotter/printer/inks/material should I buy?
I wish we say more layout and design questions. There doesn't seem to be that much interest in that aspect of the industry anymore.

Nice attempt. I think it still needs some work. There are quite a few things to mention but the first thing that I wondered is why did you choose the star and the cool blue color? Neither really says lawn care to me.
