  1. Balloons and Banners...Hit a wall on this one...

This is for a customer who is trying to get away from doing as much with balloons and is heading toward doing more with banners and signs. I'm having a hard, hard time with this. The customer would like to downplay the balloons aspect of the logo and doesn't want the logo to be too 'fun'...
  2. Northridge Pylon Sign

C'mon guys. In all fairness, this is a nice rendition. I think this would be a fine looking sign. Nice job on the drawing aspect too.
  3. Book Review: Inside Sign Design: How to Design Interior and Exterior Signage

The book is full of great info on sign designing. Although, to be honest, it is written by someone with a creative mind. It tends to jump all over the place. It isn't organized that well. Nothing that some editing won't help. But the info is really great. I've learned a lot from it. The author...
  4. Any ideas on this one?

Thanks. It's close, but if that was it, it would be heavily modified. Considering the source of this particular word, I can almost guarantee no modification went into it.
  5. Any ideas on this one?

    Can't find it
  6. I am working on a logo.

BTW, you can get away with using clipart in a 'layout', but it get's sticky in a 'logo'. fine line.
  7. I am working on a logo.

Shouldn't it be NOPALITOS? With an O? :)
  8. How long would it take you????

6 minutes to recreate. Although to design from scratch should take longer.
  9. thoughts on new signcraft

Wow, you took the words right out of my mouth! I'm shocked sometimes at some of the examples used in SignCraft. I think sadly it's the direction we're headed. Fortunately, there's still enough eye candy and good articles in the magazine too.
  10. FUN utility :)

    That is incredibly useful. Thanks!
  11. Windows Vista - Hard Drive Always Running?

I think there was a post about this a while back. I found a solution. It worked immediately for me... Turn off the Volume Shadow Copy http://www.howtohaven.com/system/turn-off-volume-shadow-copy-vista.shtml
  12. Quality Signs Logo

You know, that's a good point. In fact, I think the letter 'T' is way overdone too. In fac, I'm no gonna use i anymore. I's sooooo yeserday.
  13. Quality Signs Logo

Amen Bob. You eat me to it!
  14. Quality Signs Logo

Again, script on an arch can work just fine if it's not overdone. Personally, I think it adds a nice bounce to the word. Here's just a few of the many examples of it used, although not all of these are great. Take a look at food packaging next time your in a grocery store. It's done all the...
  15. New guy from Illinois

    Welcome!
  16. Does anyone use Google Checkout?

    Yep, no account necessary.
  17. Does anyone use Google Checkout?

Paypal is very easy to setup and use. Paypal creates the code for the payment button, you just plug it into your site and viola! You're accepting payments. If you want something a little more in depth, I like cubecart software. It's free and easy to setup.
  18. Quality Signs Logo

The layout itself isn't bad at all. A couple things.... 1. A phone number should never be a part of a logo. 2. The script font for the phone number isn't working. 3. The logo doesn't pass the squint test. You're color choices aren't contrasting enough. Try putting a white outline around the...
  19. Box Truck

That's a nice layout. Great work!
  20. First Hand Painted Signs

Looks like you used a paint mask?
