  1. Random thoughts for a kinder, gentler S101

Good thread, Dan. My name is Moze, that's my ugly mug above.
  2. Keurig anyone?

    Details! Mods, 1/4 mile, etc?
  3. Keurig anyone?

What is your Z06 killer...? :)
  4. Am I at fault? Or is this guy just being a little too picky?

He should be more bothered that he has a "$48,000 truck" that only runs mid-13's.
  5. Days Inn Shape, Trademarked??

I would cover your butt and check with their legal department. Get it in writing whether the shape is trademarked, whether you can reuse the cabinet, etc. Wyndham Worldwide's Legal Department: 973-753-6620
  6. phone/tablet/ipod protectors

The cheapest iPad screen protector on eBay is $1.84 shipped - surely your time is worth more than that.
  7. logo idea

I know it's not why the thread was brought back, but in my opinion (which is VERY important ) the orange dot on the 'i' needs to be moved to the right so it's centered on the 'i'. The blue dot on the 'i' should match the orange dot (skewed/same shape).
  8. PayPal debit card question/rant

I don't really have the time to research this at the moment, but I heard Redbox was going to start implementing a PayPal feature into their kiosk rental machines. I think you're supposed to be able to withdraw money (ie: get a receipt) and get the actual cash from Customer Service. Might be...
  9. phone/tablet/ipod protectors

Agreed...covers on eBay are cheap. I don't know how they profit on some of the stuff. I just received a rubberized plastic back cover and stylus for my iPad for under $6 shipped. They have to be relying on high volume.
  10. Attaching Jewelite to Acrylic

Gotchya. I guess it depends on how much trimcap you apply on whether going to magnets is worth it, but it sure is a time saver.
  11. Attaching Jewelite to Acrylic

Agreed...if it's a new face, apply the vinyl then trimcap it. does anyone use the magnet method?

  13. Like a hawk

    Awesome shot & subject.
  14. Joining panels?

If you want a more finished look as the others have mentioned, go with the frame. Another way to skin the cat is to fab individual perimeter frames for both panels out of 2" aluminum angle. Miter the corners of the angle, then attach them to the panels with 2" VHB tape. At your shop, pre-drill...
  15. Third Party Highway Signage

If I'm understanding you correctly, the signs you're describing are typically referred to as General Service Signs and are usually regulated by the DOT if they're in the right-of-way.
  16. Installing into Stucco...HELP!

The design left a lot to be desired (customer spec)...I don't think the signs were necessarily "POS".
  17. Cheap channel letters?

Those jut-out type fascias are typically easily accessible from the back, so the electrical should be a piece of cake. The competitor is likely illuminating with LED's due to the shape, which makes for fast and easy illumination...he might even be using a cheap cheap cheap LED to keep costs...
  18. Necessity is the mother of invention?

Ah, the old 'don't try this at home' line hahaha (is there a smiley for rolling your eyes?)
  19. logo idea

I didn't notice it missing until you mentioned it, but in my opinion, yes, I think it should be dotted to keep with the lower-case theme. I agree with Jill, it doesn't need the ampersand. Maybe a dot (•) the same color as the "signs" and "graphics" text placed in the descender of the 'p'...
  20. Installing into Stucco...HELP!

I agree - it's time consuming. "We" (previous company I worked at) did the Wells Fargo signs and all of those pretty pan panel backgrounds you see on the banks now are Alucobond and they're all manufactured by routing the 'V' and then being brake-formed. Very time consuming and very little...
