we had a local guy who sandblasted only as his trade for years, but finally his health dwindled too much to continue.
we now use a powdercoating place that does a fair job at blasting our blanks.
something to look into.
did you used to have a font management program that could temporarily install fonts? if so, you may have to run a 'font folder fix' program, usually found on microsoft site (powertools or something)
LORDS adhesive <whatever> to the back of the letters. you can use acrylic pads, blocks of sintra, elevator bolts, whatever.
method/material would depend on size, thickness, exterior vs interior, etc
