When Im faced with this scenario I respond with "Really? Oh wow, well can you send their quote to me or show it to me and lets make sure we are talking about the same thing"..........9 times out of 10 the conversation will end there.
People will lie, my opinion walk away. let it go, forget...
Is it possible for you to do all work and save a cdr version for your personal files but only export to eps or ai for others? im an illustrator guy myself but I can t figure for the life of my why it would corrupt its own files
I do know when choosing ai in illy I can save older versions back...
if this were my job I would make the frame out of 2x2 square tube.
background would be .063 alumimu. with dibond letters on top, border vinyl
cost for tear down and install of new about $3800.00
yeah! they dont use that any longer, replace with a pan face OR a flat lexan face if the sign will allow.
For the life of me I never understood those damn panels BUT they sure did last!

In my business its mine until you pay for it. I have had 100% excellent results from taking signs down. For a customer to go from weeks of dragging out not paying you and avoiding you, they will bust out a...
This is irony at its best. We quoted this job over 1 year ago, Huge quote! All thru the building was cut out "galvanized" metal lettering. It was overkill at its finest. well we didnt get the job (figures) but whoever did get it put up all vinyl lettering....I might just never quote another huge...
How? There was no agreement between you and the building or landowner. The have no liabilities as to what their leasee does. I know folks dont agree with what I say BUT the OP is stuck. Maybe its time to add in your art dislaimenr you will remove signs if not paid for
on the above sign I posted that is far from a being a hack sir. i gave them something sturdy and long lasting instead of something that rust will be running down the face in 1 years time and possibly in 3 years crumble to ground. AND I informed them of how much of a bad idea it was. they didnt...
