Thanks all. Not sure where this job ended up. We've printed many shades of color on the 3M reflective with no problems. I'm not sure why the question is even being brought up. I suspect the customer isn't aware that we can print any color on white. When the most knowledgeable salesperson is out...
Anyone have any success printing on 3M Gold Reflective material? We've only printed on 3m White Reflective and it works great but catalog says only the white is printable. We're using an HP 360 Latex with no white ink. Yeah, I know the colors may come out wonky but I think the plan is to print a...
The way I understand it after talking again to the tech is that it's in between jobs. He sends one and as it's printing sends another and goes to lunch. It pauses after the first print and doesn't continue to the next print. Says it rips but will not continue unless you move the mouse.
How we use Flexi Print Production Manager
Open CorelDraw file using workstaion 1, export to Flexi Print Production Manager hot folder on RIP Station located in another area of the building. Print tech manages all print jobs from there.
I too, believe it has something to do with power settings...
Although we don't use Flexi for design or sending files to print we do use the Flexi Print Production Manager to set prints up. Sometimes a print will pause/stop and won't continue until you wiggle the mouse. Win7 with no screensaver set.
Anyone else experienced this? Maybe a mouse driver issue?
I often get pdf's for print and always import them into corel for proofing and to set the correct size. I'm amazed at the number of third party designers who use "PANTONE Process Black C" and "Overprint fill". Don't they know Process Black computes to C0 M0 Y0 K0 100. We never use that formula...
Years ago I tried to make my own sort of spreadsheet that everyone could keep open at their desktop and update as needed but no one seemed to be able to get the hang of it. I thought it worked pretty good but...
"yeah, I'm calling to get a status update on my banner." salesperson replies...
Software? Might be nice. Have to check into it. We use custom designed paper workorders.
1. Order comes in and the sales staff fills out the workorder with all the particulars.
2. places the workorder and any supporting documents/illustrations into a "job jacket"
3. Place the job jacket into the...
I was not consulted when ordering the 360. First of all I am not against Latex technology itself, it's this model. I have since learned is not suitable for small runs but rather large runs. On any given day we may print 5 banners, then 2 vehicle wraps, then a couple of paper prints, then on to...
Our operating hours are 8:30 - 5:00 M-F. If business got tight I would consider shifting some people around and try adding Saturdays. Many people, myself included, will not leave work to get other business done. Give me a Saturday option and I'd be there in a heartbeat. Just saying.
I actually use a CorelDraw macro in much the same fashion. We attach a 12" magnetic strip to the side, take the photo, import to Corel. draw a rectangle around the magnet, run the macro, image will scale to size. This will get you in the ballpark.
We haven't had very good success with the knifeless tape. Leaves too much of a rough edge. Maybe the material we use is too thick or something. If it's a "half wrap" i.e. stripes or "waves" it's trial and error. Making it look good in the proof is the easy part. Getting the cut down can take...
We don't use templates. Too many variables not covered (trim varies from model to model). Take a good side shot of the actual vehicle that's getting wrapped. Jot down some measurements (door width, etc.)
Do your layout using clipping masks. For full wraps prints are usually done in rectangular...
