  1. Big Jobs - How do you sell them?

It's a trick question, how big and complicated? --- Qualify the client first. --- If "cheap, cheap, cheap" come out of their mouth, you don't go designing a dual lit, cap-less letter with brushed stainless steel returns and 1/4" thick aluminum backer that stands off the wall 1" cuz your...
  2. Big Jobs - How do you sell them?

I would not design a thing, I would give him a ball park and be done with him.... sounds like a tire kicker to me.
  3. Big Jobs - How do you sell them?

How big is big? To me 100k is big... Do they have a logo? Are you just designing a sign with the current logo? When it comes to lettering/logo on a building. You need a drawing to get a vendor to bid on parts you do not manufacture You might need one to run to the city to verify it can...

I don't know what John's talking about, it's been a lot more exciting since we've been hanging out, so far, we've seen 8 movies, went to a couple of museums, got a pastrami, a cancer scare, tons of shopping, even more shopping returns, had my rental car broken into, had computers and ipad...

  8. bad, yet stays in business..

I have seen this.... poopie sign design and they are in business for years... it is hard to shop for design, it's even harder if the client has no taste. The advantage I have is... I can design a nice sign or a poopie sign (and I have because the client insisted on it), the same can not be...
  9. Printing Traffic Signs

Too answer your question... There is no printer durable or able to print directly on to retro reflective in that price range. You can print on a clear and apply that to your sign face "BUT" you will not be MUTCD compliant as the color has to be reflective too, the print will be too opaque...

  18. New from the Bay Area . . .

Welcome to SIGNS101 I saw your site splash page... You really have to take that down and start thinking of a more professional looking site... you can still have a "cute" site, but there are so many problems with the design I don't know where to start. I get the feeling you bought a...
