  1. New L25500 firmware

This is what it solved for us. We'd often put a new head and in and within minutes it'd ask for a replacement. HP would send us new ones in exchange for the defective ones. We've not had a problem with this on the two we upgraded since, though we kept having it on the other 10. I had a...
  2. New L25500 firmware

We've had the beta version on two of our machines now and it's stable. It's solved the problems we were having. We're rolling it out this weekend to the other 10 machines.
  3. Setting printers IP address in Caldera

The manual is in Caldera. Click on ABOUT and then hit DOCUMENTATION. To answer your question, Go to Server Admin, click on the server/printer you want to edit and choose Configure. In the Connection Tab, uncheck auto-detect, and change the connection type to LP. Type in the IP address and...
  4. Help I need an IP Address for My XC 540

With the Rolands, like many others, you don't actually need to setup the printer in Windows. It's done through Versaworks, of which you will need the IP Address of the printer to make things work. To get/change the IP address of the printer you do as described above: Hit Menu-- Go to System...

  7. HP Latex Printer arrived today...

I think they're saying nvidia graphics work best with the debian distro they're using. That being said I have a have machines with ATI (who AMD purchased) chipsets in them that work just fine. The easiest thing to do is try to load Caldera's Debian. If it works, it works. If not then it doesn't.
  8. Caldera Visual Cut

Even easier than that. Stop using the Summa S160 option and use Summa Postnet instead. When Caldera prints the Registration Marks, it will print a bar code that the Summa itself can read. A fully automated workflow!

  10. Best host and registrar?

Time to get a static IP then! Hosting yourself isn't for everyone, but it certainly is a viable option for many. It's really not as hard or complicated as people make it out to be.

  12. Best host and registrar?

Just host it yourself! Simple windows solution-- setup for hosting one site, but able to host many with a few modifications. http://www.wampserver.com/en/ More complex, but still relatively simple for hosting 1 - many sites: http://www.webmin.com/
  13. HP L25500 Technician Manual

Not to get in to this, or interrupt this thread, but with an opinion like that it's either you've not used one, or you sell against it. I've got a fleet of them and they work great. They're much better than other machines out there in this class. I'd gladly take one any day over the Rolands...
  14. Did Solvex Change their 30/70 Perf Pattern?

Our local rep for Fellers says the stuff is made by ClearFocus for Frank to put his label on it. It seems to work really well on flat window wrap situations. It's a calendared vinyl, so one wouldn't expect it to work too well in more complex situations.
  15. HP FB500 Leftover ink in boxes

    I like this logic.
  16. Rip trial fully functioning?

  18. Jumping on the HP Latex bandwagon

We've got two Roland XJ-740s which use the same ink/heads as the XC-540. The quality of print, speed of print, and cost of print all go to the HP, so much so that we're turning one Roland into a dye sub and selling off the other. There's just no need for them anymore. We've had the LX800...
  19. HP L26500 and L28500

I don't know about that. The two HP techs that come to us for the L25500s both say they are being trained to do the upgrade for that model. The LX800 using the 610 inks was a significant upgrade for us as we print on a lot of fabric with this machine. We're pretty pleased with the new...
