  1. another CNC exterior FCO letter question, regarding double face sheet adhesive...

thank you both. Bob, for example, on several small thin stroke serif letters... have you pre-applied sheet adhesive to assist in mounting this sort of thing? I've cut them without adhesive & then had a hell of a time getting enough adhesive on, without slobbering it on to thick... I'm going...

thanks for all the replies so far... by the way, I don't think I mentioned this, but it was installed about 2-1/2 years ago and just started failing this month!

  5. Exterior Post Sign w/ 2 faces...need suggestions

for the price of another sheet of MDO (passed along to client) and a little more paint time... I've often just made 2 signs (simultaneously, saving some paint drying time) and mounted on both sides of posts set a little closer together (saving the time & skill of cutting tabs & routing grooves)...
  6. Frame for sign suggestions

what is sign-a-bond? how thick? installed where? marquee meaning what? like Gino said, take a little more time and make a better effort to give us all as complete of a picture as possible, so we can spend our free time helping you instead of asking WTF you're talking about. did you make this...
  7. another CNC exterior FCO letter question, regarding double face sheet adhesive...

If I want to cut out letters to mount to a signboard, wall, or perhaps a second set of the letter, to double up thickness, or add a larger outline of a different color material.... ...I think I would like to apply sheet adhesive to the substrate before routing. I've purchased letters done this...
  8. trouble with a CNC cut gator foam product

fortunately I am a much bigger fan of HDU, but it is pricey, and there are lots of cheaper foam letters on buildings around here, so a few years back, before I got my CNC, I sold a few sets of Gator Foam (Gator Board?) letters. One of the jobs had a real stylized font, with a heavy slant & the...
  9. are all dongles equal

are you a registered owner of the program? ...or you hope to get this other persons copy working since you "might have found a dongle"? If you have your own copy, but can't find the disc... you lost your dongle too? I'm just curious. I paid around $2000 for Signlab 7 (or was it 8?) about 5...

  14. How much to charge - want to be a good citizen!

Kurt is correct, although it is the more complicated answer, it is also the way to operate your business for survival. You need to know your hard costs of the ink & media, but also the annual, monthly, weekly and finally, as a mathematical by-product of the above... your hourly costs to remain...
  15. anybody know this font, or if the distressed aspect is custom?

  16. anybody know this font, or if the distressed aspect is custom?

http://islandsign.com/fontid.jpg I think it looks a lot like branding iron, except for the distressed part, but I don't even have that font on my laptop tonight, and I'm supposed to try to get a few layouts done... hopefully I'll luck out and there is some free derivative...
  17. what would you pay for this

that's a question? you drew that already & wonder what others would charge? a pic of a floor plan? how about a xerox reduction or two, and then scan it.. then redraw a flat plan without 3D? Add arrows, legend etc... unless the client already had a digital file & clear direction on...
