  1. SGIA Expo

I'll be there.. installing in the PDAA booth on Weds AM and the 3M booth later on. Hey FieldCenter.. do you need some print heads to demo cleanings on? I have three Mimaki JV3 heads that are 100% plugged if you want a challenge! :)
  2. What's your SC-540 [DX4 head] scan speed?

No problems. XC-540 is five years old, XJ-740 is 2.5 years old. They get used a lot.
  3. VP 540 Wipe Cover causing motor error

If you run without it, the wipers will fling ink towards the front cover and the forward part of the bottom of the carriage. Not a huge deal, especially if it solves your error. You can always bend it back down so it doesn't hit the carriage.
  4. What's your SC-540 [DX4 head] scan speed?

    We run 1000mm here...
  5. Tip on Getting Hired as an Employee

Hey Rick, you wanna move to Phoenix? I totally agree about not knowing how people are from anything other than experience. A couple years ago we started hiring people on a temporary, 2 week basis. If they decide they like it and we decide we like them, then they get hired and go through...
  6. solvent translucent film prefered brand?

Technically, cast should last longer than calendared film. We use Oracal 3850.
  7. Who can make these for me? About 2-4,000 sets needed

Any litho printer should be able to tackle this for you...
  8. Curing before laminating

We always try to wait overnight if we can. To help things along, we built a forced air system that we let prints dry on.
  9. Tip on Getting Hired as an Employee

I've been Googling potential hires and checking Myspace/Facebook for the past couple of years. It's amazing how much you can learn about someone without ever meeting them. It's true about people not realizing how much damage they could be causing themselves down the road with what they...
  10. Wrap Juice?

Hmm... when I need a little glide, I just lick my finger or grab a little sweat off my brow! I wonder how well the vinyl will stick after you touch the adhesive with your lube soaked fingers...
  11. What do you wear to work?

Well.. at least you weren't wearing your gigolo garb!
  12. Printing Stops on VP540

Have you turned the main power off to the printer, rebooted the pc, and any switches or hubs in your network?
  13. What do you wear to work?

Lol.. thankfully your gigolo days were over when I was at your shop!
  14. A great way to start the week off bad

Jeeze... That's just flat out BS. So did the cops arrest the guy or what?
  15. Air purifiers for printing environments?

I'd take a serious look at Stan's offer. That's a good deal, and you wouldn't have anything to worry about. The hood idea isn't bad, but think about a collection tray that would sit on the floor below the machine with inlets spread the length of the printer. I'm sure you can buy the...
  16. A great way to start the week off bad

I have to agree with everyone else--it's most likely someone who's been in your shop before. I'd imagine that up in Kingman it won't be very long before you catch him trying to either move the stuff or start his own sign company. Reach out to the suppliers and ask them to keep a look out for...
  17. A great way to start the week off bad

Lol! Dude, that sucks. Where in AZ are you at?
  18. fire dept wouldn't put the fire out...

How can people really expect to be able to refuse (to pay for) a service up front, and then expect the service provider to take care of them when they are in need? That makes absolutely NO sense. The $75 a year is cheap insurance. I can't believe that the insurance company doesn't require...
  19. Best Value Printer for Wraps

    Infractions?? Are you kidding?!
  20. Interesting payment

:O 24' trailers are worth $5-$7k in good shape! I actually toyed with the idea of a mobile shop a LONG time ago and decided against it. I have, however, used my toy hauler as an office/break room on longer on-site installs.
