Colin- how many computers do you have? Is your rip pc seperate from your design PC?
I might be able to goto meeting into your comps and calibrate/install profiles if your down.
Just need to get over this nasty flu!!
Nothing to bad mouth about fellers at all. If you talk with your rep about pricing (as you would any other supplier) then you can get excellent prices on media. In fact, my wife gets better pricing from them than anywhere. Free shipping and always promt delivery.
Really depends on your purchase...
ya! If I remember, there are actually some clean fonts in that package.
I was a suitcase user too.. Love me FAPro! and I'm glad it was a good referral!
It's what it is.. A gradient map- black to white. If you want b&w conversion you won't want to use a gradient map because depending on the gradient- your top colors might not get the same part of the gradient as the bottom of the image.
Channel mixer is a much better way.
Colin- don't use gradient maps for B&W
Lookup- 1: channel mixer for B&W images. It's a much better way
Also- if your printing green.. Image adjust > color balance > add a little blue :)

Get one that projects from far away- put it on a tripod and project from afar...
Bob- I've solved your print to monitor problem!
Your using a Mutoh Valuejet printer...
I would have given up too. Now I understand your inner pain and frustrations about only needing 2 profiles. It's like I'm seeing a whole new side of you. My apologies.
You answered your own question right here Bob.
With the right profiles, what you see is what you get. For you to say those that obcess over over monitor to print calibration is ludicrous, is only admitting that you couldn't achieve it and using 2 profiles is your means of balance to your own...
You know what. I'm going to blog about this. To many people have no idea how to setup correct ICC profiles. I'll try and make a step by step next week.
This is an icc problem. Your canon is default srgb. Your PC is srgb. Your Roland is confused as its pc is srgb and it's icc render is whatever joke you've been told to set it.
You need to default your pc to adobe1998 by installing the profile. Then, default your printer PC to the same ICC...
This is not true at ALL.
Just because a profile looks decent does not mean that is properly saturating the material amongst other things. The wrong profile can lead to premature fading and failure or delamination.
Be sure to either 1: obtain the proper profile per media for your printer. 2...
