I don't know who the dolt is that came up with it, but I die a bit inside everytime I see it.... STRETCH TO FIT THE ALLOTTED SPACE I understand WHY some 'designers' do it... Time mainly, laziness, and of course the customer wants the cheapest route possible ( why should I pay you to relay it...

  5. logo trouble?

Anytime I see a business trying to copy the likeness of any other business it just appears to me that the business has zero originality. All the ironwood fonts in an array of Maltese crosses, a HD crest knockoff, any collection of initials in the shape of a chopper just tells me that the owner...

  7. What to measure to when doing a wrap.

NEVER use a level... There are so many factors that could be off. Would you still use a level if you installed the graphics while the vehicle was on a hill? And if on a level, are you positive that it's perfectly flat? The only way to verify that is if it was surveyed. Are all the tires...

The font itself isn't a complete trainwreck; There are many worse ones out there. The problem is that it has came standard and readily available on windows and therefore has became overused and abused by so many. Welcome to the forum!

  11. Conversation with a wholesale customer

It all depends on what you're starting with. If you have a large crisp image to start with, an autotrace might do the job. I prefer to rebuild logos like the Vector Doctor to get the best final result especially if they're previous web graphics. ( but I'm sure he's a LOT quicker than I am! )...
  12. Shane Durnfords new site is up. Prepare to be humbled....big time.

Incredible work Shane!! What's your primary material , wood, HDU? Is everything made with hand tools, Cnc work? A marriage of both? I've already gone back and looked at the site at least a couple of times... I'm in awe.

Agreed. If you're doing a logo-ish design... charge for a logo design. I try and be upfront with every customer. Explain that with this design they will completely own it and may do with whatever they wish... letterhead, pop display, any identity and are encouraged to! Explain briefly the...
  19. The best cheap customer so far!!!

I had one of those except it wasn't so much as the product sucked as they said that the salesman was an ass. After my quote, they stuck with the salesman. I guess a few bucks more ($15) was too expensive and they'd rather deal with a salesman with no people skills.
