  1. Files on my Cd-RW drive that will not delete!

can't you just burn to a new cd?
  2. Having Trouble with External Hard Drive

IDE will have a approx 40 pins plus separate 4 pin power connector. SATA has a single "L" shape adapter plus either an "L" shape or 4 pin power adapter. Be sure that you know which type of drive you have when shopping for enclosures. There are MANY different brands. Most will do the job...
  3. Having Trouble with External Hard Drive

I see... What type of drive is it? IDE or SATA?
  4. Having Trouble with External Hard Drive

Wow... all this to avoid returning a drive? I am all for fixing stuff, but in this case, I would just send it back and get a new one.
  5. Pictures moved in Illustrator

Me either... I haven't run into that one. Sorry Stacy. XP or Vista? Do you have Illy installed on another PC to see if it is the file or Illy that is messed?
  6. Peachtree or Quickbooks, Which do you prefer?

Quickbooks for me... but as stated before, ask your accountant. Using the software that your accountant is comfortable with will save you headache and $$$ at tax time.
  7. Having Trouble with External Hard Drive

There is a chance, depending on the kind of drive and where you bought it. You were "copying" the files, right? Not moving them. If you "moved" them, I can see your dilema. Hopefully you have a good backup? Just out of curiosity, what was the error that you got when this all...
  8. Having Trouble with External Hard Drive

    hmmm... I would return it.
  9. Having Trouble with External Hard Drive

Sounds a little sketchy to me. I would probably return it for a new one. Does it work on any other PC? Also, there may be BIOS (boot settings) that could interfere, but that is less likely being as it worked for a while.
  10. Having Trouble with External Hard Drive

nice... ok. Have you rebooted the PC? Also power-cycle the drive (turn off and on again). Try a different USB port too. If it shows up again, great. If not, you may just have a bad drive.
  11. Having Trouble with External Hard Drive

Is it a new drive? Does it show up in Device Manager? Right-click "My Computer" or "Computer" and choose "Manage". On the left side of the new window, you should have "Device Manager". Click on it. The external should show up under "Disk drives". You should also look under "Disk...
  12. Flexi vs Adobe Sign Lab etc...

In my experience, Photoshop and Illustrator are a little more robust and give you more design capability, BUT the learning curve is a bit steeper than say Flexi. Flexi is a very mainstream software and many shops swear by it. I just prefer to design in Adobe products. You might try the...
  13. Just looking for Advice

Seriously? I really mean no offense to you personally Checkers, but I strongly disagree. I remember continuous 12 hour (or longer) days, a workout routine each day, lifting 200# soldiers, carrying 50# backpack for miles on end, sleep deprivation, being on my feet constantly (until the point...
  14. Photoshop problem

Good to see that you figured it out. I love Photoshop! Learn something new about it all of the time.
  15. Photoshop problem

What application created the .eps? Can you open it in another application? You should be able to open the .eps with a text editor (notepad is easiest) and see the header. It will give you a little info on the file. Any chance you can post the header info here?
  16. Just looking for Advice

I went through the Vocational Rehab program through the VA after cancer forced me out of the ARMY. That is a great program. I am curious. What kind of training are they offering (or are you requesting) for signmaking?
  17. Dual Boot?

Switching out hard drives in a caddy is really not much different than throwing in an additional drive and dual-booting. You would still need the drivers and to load the OS on the new board.
  18. Dual Boot?

You would have to lookup hardware models (motherboard and video are going to be the most likely to not be comaptible). Then you would have to put a new harddrive in your XP system (or partition your existing drive), install 98 on it, and then install software and migrate files. No, it is...
  19. windows

Yeah, still same thing. MacBook Pro is still slower than a Mac Pro desktop (similar specs). PC notebook is slower than a PC desktop (similar specs). Macs have the same hardware limitations that PCs do. They use the same hardware as PCs. If you are designing smaller stuff or...
  20. Dual Boot?

I guess anything is possilbe, but not likely in the way you describe it. You could create a dual boot on your XP system, but MANY motherboards are not compatible with 98/ME. It would be "iffy" at best.
