  2. site spell check?

is there a spell check on the site and if so, can I shut it off. this is the only place online that I use where every letter I enter is second guessed by something and "corrected". it takes for ever to enter just a simple line of copy as I am having to fight with the auto correct to get it to...
  3. Installation of Plastic lettering ... need information asap

channel letters and cut plastic letters are two different things. "heavier" plastic meaning thickness? are there studs in the back that go into the wall? do you have the letters? if so, take a picture of them and post as that would be helpful. how are the patterns set up? are the letters...
  4. Channel letter quoting

we also outsource our channel letters as we aren't a UL shop. we don't sell by the sq inch but by the job using a mark up based on over head, etc. it usually runs about the same as other shops who may be quoting the same job. when there is a huge difference in price, it usually comes down to...

  7. SMS Consultants or used car salesmen?

just hang up on these clowns as would you really do business with people like that?
  8. How long does a sign last?!!!

it depends on materials, sunlight, wind/rain and 1,000 other factors. I have a sign cabinet with painted faces out there that I did when I first started back in 1987. up close, I bet it doesn't look great but from the road it looks good. since Alumalite says it lasts 10 years outside, I would...
  9. Seaming DiBond

good idea. if this isn't a carved stone color combo, maybe going with a dark background would work. some companies have alternate color combinations
  10. Seaming DiBond

I would go with vertical seams as the building has vertical lines in the siding and it will help blend it in as you won't see lines going both ways. on thicker material you can lap joint the panels but not too sure you could cut that on 3mm
  11. How do I make this look less like clip art.

the hat is what bothers me in the original graphic as it has no depth or any sense of being a hat. there are several suggestions to add some shadows. it looks like a circle on his head.
  12. How do I make this look less like clip art.

what are you doing Jill? you actually answered the OP's request for input instead of going off on a tangent:Big Laugh
  13. How do I make this look less like clip art.

good point, the colors/overall look is more a marketing than real. I think it all goes back to when most people couldn't read so they would put a tooth on a dentist sign, a hammer on a hardware sign and so on. we get used to seeing that stuff and know what to expect. it's like that damn...

so agree with that! I hate cartoon anything and a smiling veggie is just wrong
  15. How do I make this look less like clip art.

not sure where you got you info but someone needs to tell the Mexicans who have been using chili peppers in their food since 7500 BC that a chili peppers in LA are taboo, my whole point was yes, you should stay within what people see as being correct for a Mexican restaurant in colors and fonts...

  17. Farewell to a Great Companion

on that day, you changed a life as well as your own. so sorry to hear of your loss
  18. How do I make this look less like clip art.

instead of the guy, you could go with a pepper graphic as it says spicy food. I know it has been done but it has because it works. I did a Mexican restaurant and did it in salsa bowl colors with a pepper and the typical what is expected Mexican font and it works. people want to see what they...
