might wanna point him to this post... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/24/unsecured-wifi-child-pornography-innocent_n_852996.html Long story short, he may eventually be proven innocent, but he's still gonna be a suspect.
  2. Roland VersaCamm Models #'s

Banding can be caused by a number of different things. Static and the media feeding too fast are a few that come to mind immediately. I think a dirty encoder strip can cause it as well. Not sure if an unclean print head would cause it though.
  3. New hard drive for laptop

Since that'll probably involve using some kind of p2p network (unless for some reason you have a usenet account), even if it wasn't stealing (which it probably still legally is), it's pirating. While you're downloading it you're also sending the file(s) to a bunch of people that probably don't...

  5. Roland VersaCamm Models #'s

To throw my 2 cents worth of knowledge in, the VS series and the BN-20 are the newest models, and the only ones that come with white/metallic ink options as far as I know. White/metallic is S-L-O-W though, and expensive.

  7. Price Beatdown

Could be wrong but I think that's regarded as price fixing.
  8. Know your customers going in.....................

See if you can return one of the "N"s for a "G" and sell'em to a strip club, you'll be golden.
  9. Good Value for a True Red

+1, also make sure "Preserve Primary Colors" is checked off under color management in VersaWorks.

  11. Becoming a Roland Tech...

It's to help the ink dry, by traveling all the way back and forth it's allowing the freshly printed media to sit on the platen a bit longer than it would if it came back once it hit the edge of the print. Like Wiggum said, if you dig through the manual it'll tell you how to turn it off.
  12. iFactory the very first look at the Apple factory

Pretty sure they have dorms for the workers as well. Apparently conditions there are so bad they put up nets around the place because workers were constantly killing themselves by jumping from the building.

  15. Armed Forces night at my house - both wanting my daughter!

+1, though I don't completely agree with the following statement. If he can learn to get over it they could develop a great friendship. When me and my best friend, whom I consider my sister these days, started hanging out, I had really strong feelings for her. Long story short, she didn't feel...
  16. Scissor alternative

+1 on the Scotch gift wrap cutters, picked one up for $2 after hearing about it on here and have been using it ever since. Just have to be careful if you're slitting something that's thin and/or not laminated, the tip that goes between the backer and material can get caught on the material and...
  17. Who's Hungry?

Most food you see used in ads, especially by big companies like that, isn't even food at all. Styrofoam, plastic, paint, glue, etc., it's all "props". The "milk" you see in cereal commercials? Elmer's glue and water. The "cheese" in those pics? Probably about as edible as the cheese that comes...
  18. Vinyl for plastics?

Definitely something rated for marine applications...
  19. Does size really matter....??

Those e-mails could contain job specs or other information he might need to reference at a later date. One of the first things I was taught here was to save ALL correspondence with a customer, in case a "he said, she said" issue comes up. +1 on archiving everything as indexed and searchable...
