Always ask as many questions and get as many details as you can from the client so that you can give the designers/production people as much info as possible about the job. It drives me insane when I have to have them get in touch with the customer because they didn't even ask how many, what...
Is there a limit on how many people can sign up? I'd like to check it out but I'm not sure I'll be able to, and I don't want to take up a spot and screw over someone else if there's a limit.
http://codeyear.com/ They basically send you a new coding tutorial once a week for the next year. Started my first one earlier, trying to clear out the cobwebs and hopefully learn a bit.
PhotoTex might work, and it's got a removable/repositionable adhesive. Seramark is another alternative although I think it's a bit more expensive than PhotoTex. I can do a test on the PhotoTex if you'd like, it sounds like you'd be better off going with something removable.
settings > printer controls > cut sheet after output? Just make sure you don't leave the media clamps in, at best it'll pause the queue till you remove them, at worst you'll get a pretty nasty head strike.
Don't bother waiting, send it back along with whatever you printed from it so far and tell your guy you want a new roll ASAP. If it printed fine on another type of media you more than likely got a bad roll.
Have you tried a different material that you have laying around? If it prints fine on something else then it's more than likely a media or profile issue.
