Good afternoon, Randy! I finally took the plunge with a refurb'd 1204, and so far have been impressed with the capabilities. My question to you is about service contracts where a tech would be able to come out to...well..service the machine should it need it. I know GEI will do that, but they...
  2. Rockhopper 38 Down

Instead of highjacking a thread, please start a new one with this question!
  3. Yaa! Got my 1204 today!

It probably is yours! It did have a takeup that they took off at my request (it was an extra $ that I didn't have!) They said it was a trade for a larger machine...was the VJ decal on the front panel starting to peel off?
  4. Yaa! Got my 1204 today!

Yep, so far I'm impressed with the few prints I've pulled just playing with the color settings. Question: I'm setting up the sleep mode and the self-clean mode (to 18 hours...figure that's a good round number). The machine won't sleep with the pinch rollers up so...has anyone experienced...
  5. Yaa! Got my 1204 today!

Yep, found that little tidbit, Chris, thanks! I thought you guys were going to send me over a couple profiles to get started, btw?
  6. Yaa! Got my 1204 today!

Thanks, guys. Got it up and test printing with a network hub. It's humming away now, just with a test print. Now I've got to download the right profiles! A big step up from the Falcon Jr. I was running a short time ago.. OK, went to the SAI site to download some profiles for my Flexi...
  7. Yaa! Got my 1204 today!

:-) Yep, got Ryder's stuff printed out ready to go. Went out and bought a card and found out that the PC doesn't have any more open slots for cards, even though it has the metal tabs at the back of the case. Figures...off yet again to return said card and pick up a router!
  8. Yaa! Got my 1204 today!

Excellent! Didn't know about the USB port...interesting how the firmware would update that way instead of using the network connection. Off to the store for a card and cable....!
  9. Yaa! Got my 1204 today!

Used, but looks to be in great shape thanks to one of the forum contributors, Graphic Resource Systems over in NJ. Now, what I didn't expect was it to have a choice between a USB and a network cable hookup. From a practical standpoint, which would be the better way to go? My USB ports are pretty...
  10. Old School Vinyl Stacking Graphics

Usually I can eyeball it pretty well, otherwise I'll do the same registration marks as in printing, just cut them out in vinyl and line the layers that way. Then peel the reg marks off your vehicle!
  11. Arrrggggg. What did I do?

That's bizarre. RandyA will surely chime in. My first thought is somehow you blew the color fuse by moving the head... any chance you could do a head clean, just to check?
  12. Stoopid question...

Excellant! Yep, I have one of the early 8. versions of Flexi; thanks for that link Randy! I'm sure I'll have setup questions once it gets here..!
  13. Stoopid question...

Hmm...I've got the disk for 8.1, and the only drivers it lists are for the Falcons, the Toucans and a couple other older models - nothing for the new(er) Valuejets and PrismJets. Is there a profile that I can use from one of the older models, maybe?
  14. Stoopid question...

Which version of Flexi has the drivers for the new(er) Mutohs? I'm running 8.02, and hopefully by the beginning of next month will have a new 1204 delivered to my door, so I know I'll have to upgrade the RIP. Just didn't want to pay for more than I needed, as I'm only using Flexi as the RIP...
  15. Capping position on Falcon II Outdoor

It's done automatically via the menu. You have to enter into the maintenance menu by holding the three top keys down when you power up the machine. You'll then scroll through each section until you reach AJST:Home, then arrow down until Origin Detect (press enter), then scroll down one to Home...
  16. Falcon Outdoor Jr. Post color print head replacement

You must be on the wrong section of the manual. Replcaing the print head is nothing more than taking out the one screw, undoing the ink lines, pulling the head out and reversing the procedure for the new head. You'll need to enter the head rank, then perform some basic tests to align the head...
  17. Misinformation about PrismJET VJ48/Mutoh 1204

Then why not ship directly from those two centers? Why should your customers suffer from ySW shipping the units in to a central point, then shipping them back out? That makes no sense at all....
  18. Pinging ports

Looks like everything is fine. Weirdly enough, deleting the port, turning the computer off and back on then attaching the printer seemed to clear the error. The printer screen still reads 'Convert [port1]', but it's printing just fine. Thanks, Randy!
  19. Pinging ports

I'll try that tomorrow, Randy. The weird thing is the screen always read that when it was printing jobs, and the jobs, apart from user error, were flawless. On the off chance a spike did plow back and take out part of the serial board, is that a user-replaceable part or might there be a...
  20. Pinging ports

Ok, I admit it - I'm no computer wizard. My main computer's motherboard fried last night, and I'm forced to put an older model into the line until I get my files transferred from the other one. Having to do so, I had to reload all my software for the business - Flexi, Corel, ect. I'm running...
