  1. How come flexi does not print exactly like...

I'd like to know how you're printing directly from Corel as well, as that would save me a step. In almost every instance, I'll take my Corel file and convert it into a .jpg, then import that into Flexi and print from there. I haven't had any instances where the color was screwy, and I use a lot...
  2. Off goes the paper!

Edited for dumbness: in repairing the print head and capping station, I was cheating the top cover, which apparently provides the needed cover for the front sensor. Dim the lights in the room, and the unit works fine.
  3. Off goes the paper!

I've been chasing a couple issues with my Falcon Jr. this past week mainly centering around clogged heads. Those issues seemed to be taken care of with a successful test print and calibration, then a new issue arose. I turned the machine off, then back on to initialize a test print from my...
  4. Diagnosis desperately needed

Hmm... I almost always use my prints in a CMYK .jpg. I design in Corel and then simply import them into Flexi. Never had an issue with colors being washed out. Try ddarlak's suggestion, then try saving your .ai file as a .jpg and import it straight in. Don't fool around with importing an .eps...
  5. Diagnosis desperately needed

In What format are you outputting the prints, i.e. the image as a .jpg, vectored colors, .ai/.cdr/.eps format? Oh, and also hi from just out of town....
  6. Falcon Jr locked in cleaning mode

Yeah, funny as that sounds, the carts looked the same to me - silly me for not noticing the foil on the end wasn't there. I just assumed it was a new style cart and went with it. I was going to say something wiseass about how glad I am that everyone is smarter than me for knowing the difference...
  7. Falcon Jr locked in cleaning mode

Ah...! I ordered and picked up a full set of colors and the black was the first that needed changed. I just checked the others and they, too, have the chips. I'll have to call Advantage to see if there is actual difference and if there is, they owe me some money :-)
  8. Falcon Jr locked in cleaning mode

Interesting. The old cart that I threw out does not have the chip, but it does have the chrome label with two black squares, sort of offset vertically. But I can't see what difference that would make. The chip is on an attached credit card sized plastic card, sticky-taped to the cart. I imagine...
  9. Falcon Jr locked in cleaning mode

No such labels on my carts - they are all simply paper other than the holographic image and the digital chip. I've been buying through Advantage Supply since they are local to me. Never had an issue until now.
  10. Falcon Jr locked in cleaning mode

Huh? It's an Eco-Solvent Ultra cart (black) like I've been using since forever.
  11. Falcon Jr locked in cleaning mode

OK, fire up the printer a little while ago and it says that the 'K' cart is empty. Probably is, so I swap it with a new one. The machine immediately goes into a head wash routine and promptly empties half the new K cart. Machine finishes, says to remove the cleaning cart (yeah..), remove the...
  12. Cuttin graphite,carbon fiber? Anyone

It's not so much cutting it, it's finding the carbon fiber in sheet form. Most times it's in roll and up to the end user to either impregnate it with resin or vacuum-form it. Doing the same job in aluminum wouldn't be hard...but you also don't get the weight savings.
