  1. Hello all, New Member Here.

    Welcome neighbor!
  2. Employee Situation

If he hasn't signed any kind of non-compete with you, I don't see an issue with him working a second job. Some people need the extra income. Having said that, I see the delicate situation of him working for an existing customer. If you honestly feel his working there is taking away work from...
  3. Flexi job tabs across the top

I don't think Flexi has ever been able to do that....your choices are cascade, tile horizontally, or vertically. BUT maybe choosing the Adobe Workspace will allow this, I don't know. I hate changing my workspace because having to reset everything. EDIT: tried Adobe workspace, didn't see any...
  4. Question about wide format Latex Quality

Yeah I don't get this either. I print most stuff at 8 pass, 10 pass for detailed small text type things. I never see this graininess....at 8 pass, a solid color of usually any color is just that: solid.
  5. HP 2600 latex printing on clear for opal acrylic faced light box sign cabinet

Again with HP 2600.... that's a small color Laserjet. Do you mean Hp 26500?
  6. HP 2600 latex printing on clear for opal acrylic faced light box sign cabinet

HP 2600? A Color Laserjet? Or is this the HP 26500? And if you're printing on clear for a backlit, yes, it will be washed out. Inks are very translucent. You can print on clear but need to mount to white acrylic. And there are other things you should do to print for backlit....search the forum...
  7. Etchmark Installation

This here. Plus I would like to add, get a VERY good sprayer that does a nice fine spray. I have found most cheap sprayers kind of 'blob' the app fluid, which causes more bubbles and can wet some parts more than others.
  8. Oraguard 210 = UV burn

Pretty typical....pass the blame to the ink, or the vinyl, or the profiles, or the install, or the alignment of the planets on the day it was installed, or.....

  11. 4'x8' Bebond sign price

What public? I can't access this without logging in....
  12. Evacuation map

I've made and recreated many of these. Key is to keep them fairly simple....not too detailed. Major hallways, entrance, exits, etc. We usually make these as backlaid acrylics. Final print mirror image on clear vinyl, backed with white vinyl, and mounted to back of 1/4" acrylic. Then they can VHB...
  13. need a supplier of magnetic/dry erase board

Yes....mount the print to steel just like you would any other sign. We use a double sided tape to mount the finished steel to PVC. It's a 30" roll....looks like laminate. Peel one side, apply to steel in laminator. Then peel the second sheet off and mount to PVC.
  14. VENT - Things that annoy you in the print industry.

My dilemma half the time. I could almost just recreate the entire job quicker than it takes to "fix" customer files half the time.
  15. Hockey arena rink boards

EW. no way for $65. $3.25 a sf? Not even for 150 signs. Giving away $5000 isn't real smart.
  16. Is there a no overlaminate option to help protect digital prints from flatbed?

Man....I thought most sign guys were thick skinned.
  17. Hockey arena rink boards

We'd be $100/$125 each, for cheapest stuff. Doesn't matter how many. If it was our standard intermediate, I'd be around $185/$225
  18. Is there a no overlaminate option to help protect digital prints from flatbed?

No, he asked if there was a spray laminate or something. I answered 'yes'. Had OP asked "what is the best spray laminate available and what do you recommend" , I may not have responded, as I do not use a spray laminate. But whatever. Sorry, I was cranky, and frankly, do get weary of some...
  19. Backlit sign design

Drive around at night where it's most populated by lit signage (restaurant rows, shopping mall areas) and just see what pops out at you and is most easily read. That'll steer you in the right direction.
  20. Is there a no overlaminate option to help protect digital prints from flatbed?

And I apologize, I'm not trying to be a pr*ck, but half the requests on here would be eliminated if everyone would use a search engine of their liking and seek the info they need.
