  1. font id: anyone recognize this one?

Dang.. I finally know one and I get beat to the punch!
  2. Where did Sarge go?

I went back and read the thread.. I think it'd take a little more than that to ruffle Sarge's feathers.
  3. What is it with laminate?

We never use paper either. Our laminator does not have a take up reel, so someone has to roll it by hand (I know..) but it's not that big of a deal if you get a little crooked to trim afterwards. Never sticks to the roller.
  4. Where did Sarge go?

    Jonas Brothers groupie! Hah!
  5. Signfonts SALE... Truckin and Jillbeans are here!

  7. Online Backup

We have too much data to store online, and are currently using removable hard drives. We're looking into other options now though. Any ideas?
  8. Dual Monitors

All of our design stations have duals.. I usually run the primary monitor with the graphic or program I'm working on, and the pallettes just to the right on the 2nd monitor. I also run Outlook on the 2nd monitor using most of the rest of the screen. Works great!
  9. Having a problem cutting reflective 3m....please help

In Corel you can use the "Fillet" option to round the corners. It helps quite a bit, but really slows down cutting.
  10. signsbud

I was thinking the same thing.. electrical, but can you pull ink through the head with a syringe??
  11. Let's play...."What's my computer problem?"

If you <alt> <spacebar> do you get the maximize/minimize/move option? I once had an issue with PS "not opening".. turned out the box was just moved off the screen entirely and I couldn't see it. You can use the arrow keys to select the move option and move it back onto the screen.
  12. signsbud

Welcome! You might try replacing the cap top. If it's swollen and not sealing correctly, you'll just pull air through the line with the syringe.
  13. Any VersaWORKS 3.2.1 guinea pigs yet?

I don't see any big advantage to updating from 2.7x.. It's probably better then 3.x, though.
  14. VersaWorks crashing- still

We're running 2.7xxx because of issues with the 3.x. We were having many issues, including crashing, freezing, printing white noise, gradients not printing at all/correctly.
  15. Sp540 no yellow or magenta

Usually I would think this is a cap top not sealing, but if you're able to pull ink through with a syringe, that should be okay. Are they not printing at all, or are they printing and then failing?
  16. XJ-640 vs. Rockhopper III

We run two Rolands (an XC540 and an XJ740) and love them. You might want to step up to the XJ740. It's not that much more expensive and you can run 6' banners..
  17. True Black on XC-540??

Tell them to profile their machine before subbing work off of it! That said, if you're doing a lot of printing with them, ask them to print you off samples using the roland color system. This will allow you to pick colors off the chart and have them print exactly how you want them to.
  18. Roland - J-star Ink?

By hotter I mean they have more aggressive solvents. The hotter solvents allow the ink to bite better into the material (and maybe different types of material), dry quicker, and usually last longer. The downside is the odor, and possibly more VOCs. For instance, Triangle MLD inks contain...
  19. Roland - J-star Ink?

When changing inks to a hotter formula, you've got to clean the machine a little more. We clean ours daily due to the volume we run through them, but weekly or twice weekly cleanings should be sufficient for most shops. We run Triangle inks on bulk systems and absolutely love them. More...
