Recently purchased a used Epson S80600. Came with several boxes of Onyx software. I called Onyx and they were not helpful at all other than telling me it is no longer serviced and is out of date.
I tried loading it but it will not load on my Windows 10. Anyone have suggestions? Maybe if I found...
Nope no Latex. We did more of a dozen samples of every printer on the market and Latex came in dead last. (and it was actually pretty decent) The 12 ink Canon Pigment and Epson 10 ink 9570 Pigment came in first as a tie. Gamut beat everything hands down. Epson S80600 was second and the Latex 365...
Thanks guys. One person says fans shut off and another says they stay running so still not sure which way it is supposed to be. Tech left Friday to the tune of $5100 for 2 heads and the service call. To get her back is $250 plus $175 an hour.
Will see what she says Monday. Looks like I can...
New to me S80600 and have a few questions. The 2 small 1" diameter fans in the back enclosed panel are whining quite loudly and not sure if that is normal. In sleep mode they do not shut off and are whining away. Should they shut off in sleep mode? Do you folks shut your printers off when not in...
We have 13 years printing pigment canvas and have now added an Epson S80600. Our media sales group sent us a roll of solvent Bianco Satin to run and it does not do it for me. Thin and a very plasticky feel to it.
We will no longer be spraying a protective varnish now that we have moved to...
No warranty, the tech drove up from Baltimore and it took 2 heads to the tune of $5100. Still in to this thing for under 10K with 2 new heads and a boat load of ink. Way more ink then I will ever use was purchased with it so will have to move a bunch of it.
Called the Epson tech that is coming out next week and she told me not to fool with the fuse as it is definitely the head. Not quite sure how she knows that without out looking at the fuse first but we will find out next week.
Another thing I tried but did not find any answers. I set to #1 head...
Am hoping it is the main board fuse? In the kit that came with the printer there are bags of 3 different fuses. I took off the back/side panel and never found the fuse. Where would it be and which fuse does it take? I have 117,9004 and0058.
No matter how frugal everyone says the Saw Grass is , at the end of the day when you fill it up ink costs are $2.60 a ml. Compared to the OEM Epson for .13 a ml and third party for .06 a ml, Sawgrass is raking you over the friggin coals.
I think we will make up a double strength black one. All it has to do is hold the weight of one metal print until you slide it to the middle under the platen. Then it is under the metal when pressing. If it lasts a year I would be happy. We might press big ones once a week to start.
We purchased a used 42x62 Knight manual Maxi press. It has a beautiful aluminum shuttle except for the torn teflon fabric shuttle blanket. Knight can replace the fabric shuttle to the tune of $800. ($145 a yard) We are not going to be using the shuttle as it was intended but will be laying out...
Jesse, How did that fabric tape work on your gator board edges? I want to try the same but want to get a tape that is the same size as my gator board thickness so I do not have to trim. 1/2 and 3/4 gator.
Thanks

Last question, maybe.:)
I read adding the white ink on the S80600 can add to your maintenance woes?
On our big landscape prints with large white puffy clouds we would have white canvas base coat as the white color if it is 255.
Will there be much gloss differential when you are not using white...
Thanks for your reply. It is amazing how the comments vary on the Epson Solvent vs. HP Latex. One minute I hear the Epson is the one you have to have and the next it is the Latex. My big concern would be to spend this kind of money on an Epson and not be satisfied with the durability of the...
Little history. We are in our 11th year of business. Canvas, fine art paper printing mounting and framing for the artisan and photography communities.
In addition we sell dye sublimation metal prints. Presently running an Epson 9900 for matte canvas. An Epson P8000 converted to dye sublimation...
The 25k does not come close to penciling out. One of the reasons I would like to find a smaller machine but with the big inkset.
I print for quite a few really fussy artisans and photographers. Need the best of the best. Fair amount of B&W too. Cannot see getting great B&W prints out of a CMYK...
