Yup. I used to install ring blowers on all kinds of equipment and the silencers were noting more than round cased "glass packs". Expensive too since they were a "custom" product. Umm..sure they were.

  4. Hydrophobic coatings and glass

If it's a Lexus nothing will stick to the glass. Otherwise you may have an oddball like I ran into. Tried three different times to do some van windows. Ending up calling my buddy the window tint expert and he said that too much silicone(or something similar) was used in processing the glass...
  5. Suggestions Matching toy hauler wrap to Motorcoach (colors)

Depending on budget tell the client to have it painted to match. I refer those types of jobs to a local truck repair shop. Coach company should be able to supply the paint codes.
  6. Need Help Jack Daniel's logo

Wouldn't using that be copyright infringement?
  7. Selling your business

Yes, let them make the offer. To be brutally honest sign shops aren't worth much. Oh, but I have a client list. Clients are not loyal and will absolutely jump ship as soon as ownership changes. Why? Because change scares people. No way around it.
  8. Used VS-540i vs. TrueVis SG-540

Ding ding ding we have a winner. Lc and Lm do nothing for gamut they are there to make better gradations.
  9. Used VS-540i vs. TrueVis SG-540

I'd rebuild the SP540V. I'm still running mine. It's slow, but works well. Otherwise the Epson S40600 is $9995 brand new. 64" wide and includes a take-up-reel. You can also reach out to BigFish about the HP latex printers. VanderJ may be able to help too.
  10. Suggestions best tool to install u post (sign post) in the ground

I built my post driver out of 3" schedule 40 pipe, 1/2" plate and 1" square tubing. Heavy beast but it get's the job done. If I hit a big rock it will bend or crush the post if I keep going. If I hit a rock I pull the post and move it a foot or so and hope I don't hit another.

  13. Cut vinyl

I ran a 24" Summa for years and don't think I ever had to panel a job. Lots of small repeat orders. I'd load a 50 yard roll and let it rip.
  14. Need Help What type of vinyl for a floor wrap?

Sub it out until it's worth bringing highly specialized(expensive) rolls of material in house. There are legal issues if the correct materials aren't used.
  15. Need Help Remove & Replace job... Vinyl won't come off

This^^^^ Steam works a treat. I bought the same steamer from Menard's and it was less than 50 bucks. I had a job like the OP's where the vinyl was welded to the glass. Steam took it and the glue right off.
  16. Suggestions Prin Laminate cut

Also need to know if the Roland is a print/cut device. If it is I would use Versaworks to get started then learn Wasatch.
  17. Nice Office Door Sign - Need some suggestions...

Years ago I made interior office signs out of solid cherry blanks and gold leaf vinyl. Looked great and matched the existing trim and doors. I'm no good at carving, but the OP is. See where I'm goin' with this?
  18. What do you use to dust off prints?

One Swiffer would be fine for the box truck panels. I use mine until I see flecks of dirt or they start to flatten out a tiny bit. For mission critical work I grab a new one.
  19. Am I making the right decision

THIS^^^^^^ I have all the equipment and still sub out projects. I'm the only one in the shop and can't do it all.
  20. What do you use to dust off prints?

I've been using a Swiffer duster with no issues. Before that it was Crystal tack cloths from the local auto body supply. No matter what you do there will still be that single tiny bit of something that shows up from time to time. Last print I lam'ed had an eyelash in it. You'd need a...
