  1. Don't bother if you're married to OEM Ink

I don't really have a dog in this fight, this is just my experience. Don't care if you stick to OEM or not... but I certainly will pocket the savings. I've used Bordeaux in two Rolands, one from new, and haven't had to replace a head yet. Cartridges, not bulk systems. We're not bulk users...

  6. Business is picking up and I need to upgrade & a few newbie questions

We had a 48" plotter and it was a pain having to trim down printed 54" rolls to fit in it. If all you plan on cutting is 24" rolls then no problem. We wound up replacing it with a 64" and never looked back.
  7. POLL: File Transfers

I've ditched yousendit or whatever it's called now. If someone sends you 10 files you have to select and download them all individually which is tedious. They seem keen to have you pay for their online storage. Wetransfer or Dropbox allow you to download them all as one zip file. We have an...

We've used Bordeaux cartridges for years with no problem, in fact we switched our last new Roland onto them from delivery.
  9. New shop van wrap design

I like it now but would lose the shopping list. Have a look at any big company's vehicle branding - they usually only have a logo.

  15. Hello from New Zealand

    Welcome from across the ditch.
  16. Roland giving some money back ?

So as it turns out OP bought the wrong cutter. You've still got a nice printer and lots of orders coming in. Why not buy a more suitable standalone cutter which will make your operation more efficient anyway? And you still have the onboard cutter for thinner stock.
  17. Missing thread....................

Forums are not democratic. You run a well moderated place here Fred. Keep up the good work.
  18. parts in australia?

Last time I needed Graphtec parts - years ago - I got them from Anitech.
  19. Monomeric Laminate on Polymeric Vinyl ?? First newbie Error!

Monomeric usually shrinks more than poly so unless you wrap around the edges you might see a dark line of fluff around the edge where the lam shrinks back leaving glue. It just doesn't have the lifespan either so you may find it just failing totally before the print vinyl. If it's a permanent...
  20. Avery 1360 overlam

We never had an issue using 1360 or 1460 laminates with a similar laminator. We never felt any need for any heat though.
