I saw something about that. There's actually a program that will do it too. It only duplicates background areas and leaves the subject matter untouched. I'm thinking someone may have posted a video at one point

And like we've learned as of recently, there's legally nothing stopping anyone from buying and using this same logo. Let him know not to get pissed off if he happens to see a logo that looks somewhat like his. He's giving up his uniqueness by going with a cheaper alternative.

Correct. Indesign or Quark is your idea programs from brochure, flyer and business card design. It's built with press production in mind.

I don't think you can swap OS drives. Maybe an older version of windows, but I think anything as of lately has to be installed for registry and security in the tower.

As cool as that looks, its not really a logo. To recreate, you'd need a 3d software program like Maya, 3d Studio max, but would be a lot easier to make the background transparent using the magic wand and the polygon lasso tool. A bit of feathering and you're good to go.

You may get close and turn it into 'line art', but to turn something into a cartoon , you'll need a cartoonist. Deaton is your man!

Another thing you can try is to use the go to Arragne > convert outline to object. This will give you an outer and inner version of the object. Delete the inner object and you have a newly noded outer object.

Try spinning the fan. If its jammed up, it may try turning while it slows down. Feel the motor to see if it's warm. Your motor might be shot. And lastly, get a meter and see if you can get to the terminals to see if there's power going to it. Hopefully, it's just dirt or dust (vacuum)...
