I will look into it tomorrow. Thanks. I already quoted them on painting, but I would much rather use a special vinyl if possible. Do you know what this special vinyl is called by chance?
Mikeifg,
I was thinking I could use high performance 3M vinyl and just lay the sides down and apply vinyl as normal. I'm just trying to find out if anyone has done this. According to some of the sites that sell the side curtains, the vinyl is PVC based.
I definitely was not thinking of...
Has anyone done any curtain side trailer graphics? I have a customer wanting graphics installed, but they said vinyl on vinyl wouldn't work. I don't see why not, since we do it all the time with scrim vinyl. Does anyone have any experience with this?
I have a Mimaki, FC8000 setup. I only have problems with the crop marks when I'm cutting through Pro-Shield laminate. Otherwise, it works great. I'm using the cutting master software that came with it because I haven't upgraded my Flexi.
I saw you getting bashed on the forum for asking about parking signs. That's why I don't post much in the few years I've been on this forum. Seems like some people spend more time on the forum bashing than actually making signs or helping people. I bought a book about 10 years ago called "Art...
Firefox here. Never like IE back in the day because of all the security issues and Firefox just ran better. IE is much better now, but I'm so used to Firefox. Tabbed browsing in Firefox back in 2004 was the most awesome thing to me. I am an internet junkie and was tired of having 5 IE...
Started doing motorcycle graphics in 1996 as a custom motorcycle shop. In 2003, I shut the doors on the motorcycle shop and went full time signs only. Thinking about pushing back into motorcycles by offering sportbike wraps...
So 14 years...and still learning.
I used to have a HP5500. I never tried to print to scrim vinyl, but I know that anything you print on needs to be laminated if it is going outdoors. The ink was also UV, but as Bill says, it's just UV stable. It is still Aqueous ink, which is water soluble. Any anything you run through the...
I just read those reviews of people complaining about setup. They must have junk for computers. I just put in a new design station. Took about 5-10 minutes to install software and get it linked up. I get lots of prints out of my cartridges. After having my 8500 premier for almost a year, I...
+1 on a HIX. It's a workhorse. Mine is about 3 years old and in the last week, I've had two other signs shops come over to use it because their off brand/cheap one is "not working right".
I was using a black only Brother desktop laser until about a month ago for invoicing. I have been using HP MF printers for my proofs for the last 4 years and have had good results. I even used it to make 500 copies of a 18 page brochure once. I have the HP OfficeJet Pro 7580 and the HP...
I've done something similar in the past and that is exactly what I did. Make a grid and plot the number right into the finished product. Mark the transfer tape with same numbers. I did it on the front and on the back of the liner. Just so we would always know what piece we had in our hands...
I used some Solvex perf today and it turned out pretty good. The customer wanted to do it on the cheap, so no laminate. I use Triangle inks on my Mimaki and I usually have pretty good results without laminate. Color will last a year and that's all I told her it was good for. She was fine...
If you don't need to make any changes, open it in photoshop and enlarge it there. That's what I do when I don't need to make any changes to it except enlarge. Then, you don't have to worry about all the layers and image cropping/placing that the original artist did. I then export as a .tif or...
