  1. Vinyl cutter for automotive parts business

My point was... OP... you that are relentlessly knocking on others skills. Give it a rest man. It's getting old, and I don't care if you're picasso, you're rudeness to others about their skills, whether it be warranted or not, is just over the top. Especially since a lot of the work you slam...
  2. Vinyl cutter for automotive parts business

I know... some people will pay for anything, huh? Don't knock on others skills unless you can truly back it up OP.
  3. Vinyl cutter for automotive parts business

This is funny. I'm staying out of it for now though...
  4. Prismjet 38''

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Buy mine buy mine!!!!! :thumb: 48" Mutoh Falcon/ Prismjet, 1 1/2 years old, includes takeup reel (extra $1800 through SW). Needs some servicing, and I can give you details of what it needs. Asking $8000 shipped, and I'll pay up to $1500 for parts and labor it get it...
  5. Prismjet 38''

GEI Calgraph always came to my shop for repairs, and I've been through 2 Falcons. Never once did I have to ship off the printer, except to make a return for a new one. Fellers and SignWarehouse are not as different as people might think. Personally, I buy from neither, but would buy just as...
  6. Printing a freaken gray on this valuejet =O

Yeah.... I HATE profiling but ya gotta keep on it. Try playing with your ink limits and profiles (you can find a lot of profiles online for free). For Arlon materials, I use a canned profile called "mutoh all in one", and don't touch a single adjustment on it, and it seems to print nicely. Other...
  7. The one thing you appreciate most from signs 101

Learned just how good you can be, and just how poor as well. Helps you judge where you stand and where the bar is raised to. People are honest, tell you what they think. Helps a lot when you're trying to get your designs right.
  8. Some decals

O----------K. Doesn't matter. Illegal. Look up some threads here or google copyright infringement. These flea market sellers have actually gone to jail and lost all of their equipment over this kind of stuff. Are you a sign shop or just a guy who wants to make his own stickers?
  9. Some decals

Are you freaking kidding me??? :Big Laugh:Big Laugh:Big Laugh:Big Laugh:Big Laugh
  10. Some decals

LOL. I think this might be an April Fools joke. But just in case it isn't.... Just because it's done, does NOT make it legal. Just marijuana, it's not legal but it's still out there. Sorry if it sucks, but it's illegal and if you start using all of those images you could get your butt sued...
  11. Some decals

Um, Mr. Shiplet, what you are asking for is illegal. There are CDs out there with content like this, but it is all copyrighted and it is all illegal to use and you can and WILL get in trouble for it.
  12. Color Contamination

Time for a new capping station or heads... or just the little ink lines. Most likely just the lines.
  13. Design off 5... The Entries

I see two that are very professional and look great. Looks like they are the leaders too!
  14. Can you plot from Photoshop to a graphtec?

Photoshop is just that, a photo chop-chop program. It's not a sign program and not a good design program. I think too many people are trying to use it as a design program, when it simply isn't. Try Illustrator or Corel, lot easier and you keep stuff as vectors. :)
  15. One of my customers threatened a lawsuit too!

Amazing... I will say some of the worst people I have ever dealt with are women. I don't know what is, but women in power... ugly. They go on little power and ego trips, very annoying and very hard to deal with. Don't know what it is, maybe just a fad/ trend with businesswomen this days, but...
  16. Lava Meltdown

Try this. Print on banner material, wait 5 minutes then scratch the material with your fingernail lightly. Does the ink come off? Wait 15 minutes and then try again. Wait 2 hours and then try again. In a week, go try again. I had a $1000+ job go to pot because all of the ink came off...
  17. Very Disapointed In Flexi Service!!!!!!

The thing to do is getting Flexi working right on a computer, and DON'T TOUCH IT. No upgrades, no changes... nothing. Forget it. Leave it alone. After a few years and you've finally paid off the program, buy a new computer, CorelDraw and CoCut and have a nice little ceremony for Flexi. You know...
  18. Lava Meltdown

LOL. Yes, don't I know. That's how I ended up with Flexi. However, I saw first hand the little scrap between SW and Lava. They went at it, threatened to sue each other (don't know if they did or not). Not good. Myself, I'd do what I can to stop as many Lava sales as possible. It took me...
  19. Corel Draw Export

Why are you exporting as CMYK to show a customer? They won't be able to open it.... To give customres a good idea of the what we're looking at, I send it over as RGB (24bit) and check the box that says "apply ICC profile". Then they see what I see.
  20. Lava Meltdown

Call SignWarehouse and ask the about Lava.... lol. SW and Lava got into quite the arguement and there is a public notice on their site to NOT use Lava inks. I put their inks in my printer.. and it cost me thousands and thousands of dollars. It ruined my ink pump, clogged my lines, made a mess...
