  1. after I print which way is up?

Always keep an eye on the box that keeps your print in production manager. I delete everthing manually, never auto. I also put a pen mark on the lower, left hand corner of my material just before every print. I use that as registration so everywhere I bring my print, whether it be for...
  2. hello

Pretty funny stuff. I knew it had to be a joke. Welcome!
  3. trying to identify this clipart ?

No. Why? Need him? Tried tracing him? I could trace him for you if it's legal.
  4. Bubbles - ahhhhhhhh

Practice practice practice.... and you'll develop a technique.
  5. Would like to buy flatbed

Mind if I asked what you used it for, and how it handled thicker materials? Thanks!
  6. business name

    bye I love it.
  7. hi from oregon

Howdy. I'm from Southern WA, not too awfully far. Welcome to a really cool site.
  8. what is the roland 600 good for?

No it would not be. Do a search here on 101 for this machine. It is in no way worth $5K. For only $9K you could find a nice used eco-sol printer that will blow that machine away tenfold.
  9. what is the roland 600 good for?

I wouldn't do it personally. It costs a small fortune to print (my retail price on eco-sol prints will be your COST for these thermal prints), is slow, breaks easily and hard to get parts for. I'd save up for a better piece of machinery, personally.
  10. Magnetic Sports Decals

Figure on atleast $20K in equipment to do this right. I'd suggest a Mutoh Valuejet, Roland VersaCamm, or Summa DC4. They all range from $12-$15K. Then about $500 in vinyl and laminate to keep in stock. Then roughly $200-$400 in tools. You could use a hand laminator for $100 or so, or if you...
  11. Where can I find and purchase?

Just my $0.02... but I never use the Auto library for anything other than providing examples to e-mail to customers. I make my own rough templates, and work off of those. I've never heard of ONE template that worked properly, and fit right. There are far too many variables. Just take a lot of...
  12. How much inventory?

Probably 4-6k in materials. About 40 rolls of digital media, and perhaps 70 rolls of colored. Just a 2 person, smaller shop, but couldn't live without atleast that much in stock.
  13. ** The Official Illustrator vs. Corel Draw Thread **

Because in all of the colleges I can even think of, they teach you using Adobe products. So all the art weenies straight out of college know only one vector program exists. Illustrator. It was pounded in their heads for 4 years, so they use it and know nothing else. Self taught sign shops can...
  14. Coreldraw question?

Um, click on the color and check it's properties???????
  15. New Flexi Update (Service Pack) for 8.1v1!!!!!

I have 8.0. Don't ever plan on upgrading again. If I get a printer that cannot be used with Flexi, I'm selling it on ebay for most likely 1/20th of what I paid for it, and buying Wasatch or CoCut. How is it that Illustrator and CorelDraw don't have to sell patches and fixes for bugs every few...
  16. Flexi investment...

Easier way to do it in Corel. Double click above the bad area, double click below the bad area. That adds a total of 2 nodes. Drag and click bad nodes, click delete, and you have a nice circle. The 2 added nodes keeps everything in place, without distortion. This is getting to be a funny...
  17. ** The Official Illustrator vs. Corel Draw Thread **

I could come back with .... Anyone in the REAL design world would use an avatar.
  18. ** The Official Illustrator vs. Corel Draw Thread **

But now Freehand is going BYE BYE!!!
  19. ** The Official Illustrator vs. Corel Draw Thread **

It's like what someone else said.... "my pencil is better than your pencil". It's whatever you're comfortable with. I started in Illustrator, I ended up in CorelDraw. Some drawing functions are easier in Illustrator, but for everyday vector and some raster work... it's hard to beat Corel for me...
  20. Flexi investment...

That's pretty far fetched. I have Corel X3, Illy and photoshop Cs2, Flexi 8.0 and Freehand. You COULD get by with any of these packs by themselves. I prefer having all at my fingertips, but do 98% of my work in Corel/ Flexi. Illustrator has been getting dusty, and I just use photoshop for...
