  1. Avery MPI 1005 Supercast ez rs printing problems

The last couple of rolls sure seem to be more sensitive to heat settings. We started getting coalescence especially in the first couple of metres when starting a print job. I brought it up with my supplier and he gave us suggested HP latex settings which seem to have solved the problem at this...
  2. Latex L25500 Question

When we notice any change in print quality we do a test print and swap it if it looks like there's any problem with one. The onboard diagnostics will sometimes tell you a head is fine but it can still be misfiring. Could be anywhere from 2 to 10 litres of ink
  3. I know there's no perfect printer, but help me get close...

For doing wraps - HP latex.
  4. My new little project

Nice. I'd stop now if I was you. I have three.
  5. Sign for Massage Therapist, critique please

I hope this story has a happy ending.
  6. Liquid Laminate

    why do birds suddenly appear?
  7. Gallery wrap pricing?

I used to do a few of these back before the local supermarket and framing shops started doing them for a pittance. These days they're for the birds. Or folk with printers who don't need to eat or be clothed.
  8. Poster Printer

Latex for sure. Instant dry, reasonable ink costs and you can run really cheap uncoated stock in them. We have Rolands as well but you have to use coated stock and the gloss especially must be run slowly to ensure it's dry enough when it hits the takeup.
  9. Illustrator CS5 file saving question

    Save without a preview.
  10. Printing on Avery adhesive vinyl with the L26500 (MPI2120, 2122...)

Last couple of rolls of Avery easy apply have had blotchiness for the first metre or two from the start of the roll. Then each time we start printing again, whether it's been left in the printer or stored. I've sent samples of the wastage to our dealer but haven't heard back yet. I'm...
  11. Summa D75 R cutter

I asked Spandex here for a quote and they never came back to me so just bought one from Positive Camtech. I was replacing an older 48" model so knew they are quality machines. The newer ones have less problems recognising opos markers if that matters to you.
  12. Another new sign

    Amazing detail and quality.
  13. Summa D75 R cutter

We bought a 160 not too long ago. It's a great cutter. OPOS works well, tracking is excellent. It cuts vinyl and laminated calendared prints easily. The Winplot Illustrator plugin means you can forget about special signmaking software too.
  14. Installing prints on windows

Yep. What Moze said. Water with enough detergent to give a little slip. Wet the face before squeegeeing.
  15. Bus wrap

I'm not in their target demographic but yeah they do some fun work, entertaining people. They were great to deal with and could totally see the advertising value in doing something like this.
  16. Bus wrap

Thanks. A free bridge is included to all bus wrap customers this month. Our operators are standing by.
  17. Bus wrap

This is our biggest wrap job to date. The client supplied the art. They also took the "after" photos.
  18. Let down by Roland

Printing K only will give you poor results. Heads don't last forever, and as you mentioned the black ink is harder on heads so the slightest imperfection will show up when doing this. Decent profiling will enable neutral 4 colour greys so you don't have to try and print them with only one...
  19. Put up, or shut up.

Disappointing. I was hoping for a descent into threats of actual physical violence, but alas. Cmon yanks. You have guns!
