We've had an ongoing issue with Avery MPI 1005 wrap film not printing well on our L25500.
See pics. The ink won't lay down evenly, especially in dark areas/blacks.
Funny thing is it seems to come good if we print 2-3 metres.
Which isn't the most economical way to operate.
We had no problems...
It's tough trying to convince people the cost of the paper isn't your largest overhead.
I can print on bond paper with my L25500 too. Doesn't mean I sell it at 50c / sq metre.
Colo is right but I don't think it hurts to be visible. You just need to show time wasters the door as quickly as possible.
Middle aged guy came in the other day wanting to buy a metre and a half of red vinyl, cos "I'm selling my old car and want to put some stripes along the side". Uhuh.
I...
Sounds like it's time to linearise your printer.
I don't know how to do that in Versaworks.
Actually looking at those test prints it looks like you're printing too fast.
These printers can't lay down ink evenly at high speeds on vinyl.
We had this a while back and discovered the heads were set to high.
Dropped them back down and problem solved.
I don't remember raising them but we'd had a service done - maybe the tech put them up.
Anyway it's easy to check and fix if that's the issue.
Oh yeah I used a stone chisel on rocks and spraypainted ochre out of my mouth onto cave walls...
I agree. A lot of designers have a nerve calling themselves one.
It's not like you need a degree to hang up a shingle is it?
Is it only cropping along the far edge?
If so it means you're telling Onyx the roll is wider than the printer can actually print.
Sometimes this happens on our Rolands if twe don't have the edge of the media in the right spot.
