  1. GX500- 640 disconnects

I had contant disconnects when I had a long usb cable on my GX500 but I moved stuff around to get it closer to the computer with VW on it and it still disconnects every couple days. Does this happen to yours or should I look further at my hookup. thanks Gene
  2. Fuzzy registration mark printing?

Once in a while I notice some 'fog' around the registration marks on my VP- a print test looks perfect and the actual prints look great. I know the reg marks print at a higher rez than I normally print at... but can this even happen?
  3. Price Guide...

Isn't it Old Paint that sez the right price is the highest price you can say without laughing?
  4. What 3d programs do you use for modeling

Thank you all. I am kinda drawn to Blender as I like the idea of open source software. I am after all an aging hippie. And Joe- I follow you on many forums and respect what you do. I trained on computers right out of high school in 65-66 and have (for better or worse) that kind of mind...
  5. What 3d programs do you use for modeling

I am getting into sending proposals to customers to try to convey to them what I intend to do for them for 3D signs- for most signs I can model them in Aspire well enough to show what my ideas are- but for hand carved pieces it would be nice to do a 3D model in something like Sketchup. Just...
  6. Helpful laminator article in WRAPS Mag

How many articles do you read where you actually learn something? There are some great tips on setting up a laminator on page 88. Gene
  7. How to cut a 90ft roll on my SP300

Much harder keep straight on a 30" than a 54" in my experience.
  8. How to cut a 90ft roll on my SP300

Having had a SP300... I would print on 24" vinyl (it is easier to get running straight and you have room for more drift) and charge the cust for the waste. And hand cut for sure. X'ed fingers might help. Gene
  9. Roland Versacamm Contour Cut

The solution is to buy the corresponding GX- stand alone cutter.

  12. I am what I am.

I retired three years ago and cut back to 60 hours a week.
  13. Flexi 10 realworld users

I don't (and never have) use flexi as a rip. I use and like VersaWorks. I am quite sure it would work with the VersaCam- your problem is that that version of Flexi was written before the VP was built.
  14. Masking tape...

3M Green tape- 3/4 and 1.5. Had a body shop for 30 years and it is the best.
  15. Flexi 10 realworld users

I had forgotten that I posted this 2 years ago but found it while searching for another post. I have still not upgraded but am still concidering one seat of Flexi Designer. Would anyone else care to comment? I don't really care about the Flexi hate group- I have made a *lot* of money with...
  16. tablets... what are you using if you have one?

I have not but I ran Sketchup (3d prog) and Aspire (cnc router prog) with no problems. It is an atom processor but the latest one- clover trail I think.
  17. tablets... what are you using if you have one?

I bought the original Samsung Tab 10.1 and still like it. I bought a MS Surface RT before I went to San Diego at xmas and returned it when I got home and bought a Samsung ATIV 500t running the full Windows 8 OS and took that to Islamarada with me three weeks ago and LOVE it. It is a laptop...
  18. 40" laminator recomendations???

+1 on RS- I had the hot/cold 41 (or 42?) version and never used the heat. Now have a cold 55" and love it.
  19. Bulk ink system for Roland SP540 versacamm

I thought that was a specific ink system you were asking about... bulk ink is the way to go- cheaper, less maintenance. I have used the Triangle bulk system for 8-9 years.
