  1. Discussion Losing Weight.

I lost 20 lbs just giving up soda. You never really think about it, but it's so many calories... I've never been able to drink water though. I found tea to be a good substitute. Low / no calories.
  2. GINO SHOW: Pilot Episode

I don't always agree with everything Gino writes, but he does seem like the guy everyone picks on here. Yes, he can be an ass, but AFAIK he doesnt post threads about specific members or target anyone individually. This is the second or third post I've seen about him this week. If you don't...
  3. How important is it, really?

We had a company order a a couple 4x8 plywoods. Same thing... Pains in full, 4 months later no one came to pick it up .We called and said these things are huge and in the way, can you come get them? 2 months later... Still here. Finally we had enough, called them and told them we can put the...
  4. How Concerned should I be about Gassing Out a print?

So... What? Are you trying to compare the chemists today to alchemists before? As in in 500 years, we'll look back and think they were idiots and didn't know what they were talking about with outgassing?... This is why I give up on some conversations. Some people dig their feet in the sand...
  5. How Concerned should I be about Gassing Out a print?

Everything is a scam. Roland, Seiko, they've spent millions upon millions in R&D, and they've decided for the print to be optimal it needs to offgass. With HP touting how you don't need to offgass, all the eco solvent players would be saying their machines can do the same.. but they don't...
  6. How Concerned should I be about Gassing Out a print?

I don't know what the debate is. Printer manufacturers themselves tell you to offgas. Each ink has its own recommendations. A print can be dry to the touch, but all that means is the surface is dry. There can still be solvent underneath that hasn't evaporated yet. It's not just solvent...
  7. Question Whats your squeegee type for installing ?

I bought 100 squeegees from China for $70, came with 100 felts installed, and 100 backup felts. They're marked and look the same.as the blue 3M squeegees... But I doubt it. They are a bit softer, but they've worked.for everything I've done so far .We carry around some.gold and some 6" white...
  8. Dry Erase

We print on vinyl yes - usually we use a high tac vinyl just because people tend to beat on/scrub the dry erase hard. Probably don't need to, but its just what we use. We print on vinyl, overlam with the dry erase, then apply it to alupanel for the hospitals. We've also applied it to...
  9. Dry Erase

http://bigpicture.net/article/new-dry-erase-overlaminate-mactac We use this. Mactac dry erase overlam.. print on whatever you want, overlam it, and your good to go. we do a lot of hospital patient boards with it, no complaints yet.
  10. Printing full bleed on aluminum blanks on flatbed - jigs?

I've never heard of vacuum bind before. We don't do many full bleeds... So I think it'd be perfect for us. I've only seen over vacuum bond, and can't find it for sale in Canada... Are there any other brands / a different product name I could look for?
  11. Printing full bleed on aluminum blanks on flatbed - jigs?

We cut a Coro jig and just use that. Yes, ink piles up.. but Coro is cheap enough we just throw it out. Buy some methanol, after your done using your jig... Spray it with methanol and let it sit for 5 mins. It'll take seconds to wipe off if you do that - the trick is to do it at the end of the...
  12. Employees on Cell Phones

These are illegal in USA / Canada, just so you know. Someone could get hurt, and you're blocking 911... Big lawsuit waiting to happen. https://www.fcc.gov/general/jamming-cell-phones-and-gps-equipment-against-law Federal law also. So even if you don't think they'll prosecute for jailtime...
  13. Employees on Cell Phones

Sit them down and talk to them about it? Be reasonable, but firm. Tell them what you expect of them, when you believe using a phone is ok, and when it's not. If it keeps up... Give them an unpaid day off / write up. If it still happens... let them know the next time it's not going to be a...
  14. Employees on Cell Phones

Every shop is different though, what may be a safety issue for you, isn't for everyone else. The job I'm in now... We have a CNC machine on one end of the warehouse, a huge, and I mean huge air compressor thats on 24/7... really loud. Table/band saw is running most days. + Other machinery...
  15. Employees on Cell Phones

On paper, that's true. I used to work as a manager for a company that employed 60ish people. When you wanted someone gone, you found a way / reason. Good employee take a look at his cellphone and you don't want to punish him, but bad employees constantly on his phone? Well... bad employee now...
  16. Employees on Cell Phones

I've worked in both enviroments, one where cell phones were prohibited, and one where it was only for emergencies / short bursts. It gets abused either way. It's the person, not the phone's that are at fault. Everyone here listens to music though, it actually increases productivity. I can't...
  17. employee stealing

False or not, it can still be construed as slander .Its innocent until proven guilty... That's why everytime there's a news article, it's "alleged crime" even if they have the guy on video, murder weapon with his finger prints, dna all over the place. Not to mention eve if your not going to...
  18. Need Help Perforation Cutting

Hard to tell from your picture, but is your blade just straight out cutting it out, or is it "perf" cutting so you can pop it? To perf cut you need to change the cut line pattern, otherwise the blade drags around turns and ends up looking like your picture.
  19. Perforated graphic coming loose

As mentioned, 3M Edge tape would do the trick. If you dont have tape / want to just use materials around the shop... All 3M edge tape is, is optically clear overlam cut into a strip. Just cut a small strip of overlam and use it to seal the edges... Won't look as good as optically clear, but if...
  20. Looking for Mac software recommendations...

People tend to go offtopic a lot on S101, something I'm guilty of a lot, but usually try to correct myself once I realize it. I kept going because I saw your question was answered, but sorry for clogging your thread! Glad you found a solution.
