Edge guards can help, but sometime, IMO, they are overrated. Really depends on material. For moderate issues they can work, but for more serious issues they can be problematic. Burning the threads on banner, was always pretty standard for us. And still occansionally needed, even with guards...

If the black cart has plenty of ink in it, then I would suspect the that ink is being pushed back into the cart, this could be the pump. If it is empty, you may pull some ink out, create a vacuum in the cart and then when released it is pulled back into the cart.

Alignments or missing nozzles? What does your nozzle check look like?

I am not really sure, the Toucan LT is made in Japan, the 65 is made in Europe. The 65 will be more like a Rockhopper 3 and Falcon Outdoor II. They should use the same heads, and probably many parts will interchange, but I dont know which ones.

Yes, 720 should be fine for most things and the speed is about 4x 1440.

You either get one from the media folks, make one, or have someone make one for you. The profile determines how much ink is delivered (within the capacity of the printer and inkset) and how the colors print. Here are some articles on the subject: http://www.mutoh.com/color_management.php

You need a profile that is high density for the media.

If you just change the resolution, you corrupt the profile. If you want to print at 1440 (on photopaper or backlit) then you need a 1440 profile for your media.

It will ultimately needs to be replaced. Short term though - there are 2 layers of 'sponge', you can carefully remove one, making sure that the remaining layer is seated properly, that should buy you some time.

Yes, It is probably because SC-50 does not appear to be an inkjet media. You will probably want an IJ media from 3M. Or custom profiles and some testing to print on non-inkjet media.

More likely profile/color management for that particular media.
