  1. Revamping my office.

Nice, looks like it's well organized, however I don't see the laminator?
  2. SP-540V Banding - Help pls

WOW, that really worked great, I have been fighting some banding for a couple of weeks, soaked heads, cleanings, nothing worked. I'm printing with a SP-540V on Orajet 3951 and used Generic vinyl III and selected high quality and W-PASS, and although the printer printed slower, there is NO...
  3. Roland VP-540i Fuse blowing

Ok, cool. Now another question about changing those very SMALL fuses, how the heck do you de-solder and re-solder them onto the circuit board? I also purchase parts from DigiKey, how did you figure out what part number to order? Thanks
  4. Roland VP-540i Fuse blowing

What, I'm confused, when you started teh post you said: The fuse for theBlack/Cyan heads is blowing as soon as the printer is turned on. I've unhooked all the ribbon cables from all the heads, and powered on. The fuse for the Black/Cyan still blows immediately. The Magenta/Yellow fuse does...
  5. SP-540V Banding - Help pls

Ok, I have heard "increase your passes" before, exactly how do you do this? Is there a setting adjustment in VW or a setting adjustment in the SP-540V? Thanks
  6. Windows 7 will not start up?

Anyone know (use) Acronis, will it make a clone HD? I like the idea of making a clone HD of my main C drive with all the OS and apps, then store it in case of emergency. I know I will have to back it up or write over it making a back-up periodically, but I'm willing to do that.
  7. RV stripes

This is really very easy to accomplish, just go to any RV dealer and take high res photos of the various designs you are interested in. Shoot straight on from the middle of the RV ad try to have the elevation of the camera mid height (half way between the bottom and the top), and use a lens...
  8. Windows 7 will not start up?

Thanks Ken, I know very little about this subject, however I recognize that I have to do it pronto. So, I need something with a VERY EASY interface, cause you used some terminology that is NOT familiar to me. Also, what do you mean "Don't forget to back up your RIPS as well", is that not part...
  9. VersaWorks hanging up?

Good news, the VW issue was because my external WD DUO RAID 1 hard drive went to sleep (i think), because when I rebooted my computer, the hard drive was initiated and NOW VW is working, go figure. I performed a bi-directional test and adjustment, and the banding is better, but can still see it.
  10. VersaWorks hanging up?

Ok, now what is going on? I have been having all kinds of problems a week ago lost a hard drive, had to rebuild my computer and get VesaWorks reinstalled and working, then I had issues with teh IP address with the printer (SP-540V), got it connected and printing. I have been sending test...
  11. Deflected nozzles?

Hope, when I put cleaning solution in the captops, you can see it go down in a few seconds. I do always add some when doing a manual cleaning (weekly). I have to clamp off the black tubs when doing a head soak to keep cleaning solution in the captops. I have done 3 head soaks since reporting...
  12. Deflected nozzles?

Well the funny thing in my case, I have NOT had any head strikes, and I have had deflected nozzles in the past, which are sometimes caused by dirty partially blocked nozzles, which have been completely recovered by changing captops and head soakings. There are different type of deflected...
  13. Adobe Illustrator/damaged Illustrator files

One way is to try is to create a new document and place the old file into it: File>Place the damaged one. Here are some other things to try: If you have less than CS6, you may try this instruction by daxxter (you may also look at the posts there)...
  14. Deflected nozzles?

I have deflected nozzles on my SP-540V and chanced captops and wipers 9 days ago, usually that helps get rid of the deflection, but I have seen NO change (see attached test print). Tried several cleanings and a head soak, and more cleanings, didn't help. So, what are some fixes that you have...
  15. laminating pure black print

I use Oraguard 210 & 290 overlam (depending on sub-straight requirements) on smaller jobs using the Big Squeegee laminating tool over solid black and get slight silvering, but it goes away over night. The BS laminating tool is different from their other vinyl application tools.
  16. Roland VersaWorks Re-Install IP HELP, please!

I din't loose job files, I have everything backed up on a RAID dual hard drive. Just thinking about having a CLONE OP drive and updating it monthly.
  17. Stickers (decals)?

Stickers (decals)? I have a customer in a band that I usually make banners for, they want 100 - 4" round stickers to pass out at their gigs, my question is this something that soul be be laminated, or just printed with Eco-Sol Max ink and it will last as long as a sticker should? Any...
  18. Roland VersaWorks Re-Install IP HELP, please!

No info is useless, I appreciate all the info and help I have been given, I'm trying to learn as I go in my old age, lol. Working as a graphic designer at Dell and Texas Instrument, we had IT folks take care off all the networking stuff, as a matter of fact we were NOT allowed to mess with...
  19. Roland VersaWorks Re-Install IP HELP, please!

Ok, I don't know anything about networking! My printer is connected with a crossover cable! I didn't know what to do, so I entered the Printer IP address in VW, and the it was recognized, so I changed the printers in VW and deleted the AJ-1000, then tried a test print from VW, and the printer...
