  1. Help with falcon Jr

yeah the "cleaning cartridges" should be called purging cartridges. they don't do much cleaning of the heads, just the ink lines. the fluid can burn its way through a bunch of crusty ink. keep doing the head soaks for a long time. and yeah you can easily replace the tubing if the gears and...
  2. falcon Outdoor Jr. printing 36"

the usual reason for ink drips on the far left side these two things. one the printer is not level. just raising the printer a half inch will set the siphoning of the ink to supply too much. the reason that the ink is on the left is that it is gathering around the back edge of the head and gets...
  3. Powerful Cleaning Falcon Jr.

sure looks like the stuff. strangely i've heard of all kinds of tubing being used. sometimes it's silocone and sometimes something else. i've heard of people using tubing found at a auto parts store. these pumps must not be too finicky.

  5. 1204 Stopped printing M in middle of job. Need some advice!

just because the lines are clear and you can pour ink straight through is good. that means you don't have a nasty clog. but it doesn't prove that you don't have a bad air leak, or restriction on the supply, or a flat spot on the pump tube going through the pump, the list goes on and on. to...
  6. Powerful Cleaning Falcon Jr.

you just get a new tube and hope that the pump itself hasn't been damaged or mucked up. the tube just runs in and around, the pump has two rollers that simply "massage" the ink through. always have a few feet of pump tubing, you can use it on your syringes, making repairs to the pumps, etc.

@prowraps, i was just discussing what i did to my own machine... it has four heads, one being dedicated to white and or clear varnish.
  8. How do you store your scraps...

shipping container in the back yard, and or the hallway, living room, front entry way, family room, office, leaned up against garage door, back bedroom/etching studio.... i know that doesn't help, but it's my screwed up life.
  9. Powerful Cleaning Falcon Jr.

here's a tutorial on the mutoh jr. i didn't watch it but it might help you familiarize yourself with the way to clean it up. these pumps really can last for a very long time. but they do get clogged, or get a flat spot in the interior pump tube, or the pump tube can fail (ink will be on the...
  10. Help Needed for Falcon 48"

stuff to check, splits in the pump tube ends going to caps, pumps etc, look for ink on your gears (a sign that the tube is broken inside the pump). if you need to find the air leak, take the tube off the bottom of the cap, put a syringe with fluid on it and put fluid pressure in the line while...
  11. Powerful Cleaning Falcon Jr.

make sure your pump tubes are securely attached to the pump and caps, etc. i've pulled my hair out with an old fj-50 before to only see that the pump tube had disconnected. to check for suction, put some solution in the cap and run the softest clean. recheck the cap, is the solution still...
  12. Help Needed for Falcon 48"

you don't need head ranks after cleaning a capping station. as for all the colors disappearing, you definitely have a clotted cs. print heads rarely fail at the same time. but colors do. i'd look to the pump first, make sure there isn't an air leak defeating your attempts to pull ink...
  13. now another problem?

yeah during the down time the pump or lines to the pump gummed up. each pump can be set up different. but basically get a syringe hook it to the line coming from the cap. and jet solution into the pump. one of the main places to get a clog is also right below the cap at the top of the tube...
  14. now another problem?

yeah, shoot some cleaning solution here the solution might seep through the pump. you can also clamp the pump tube off, or disconnect a union if you want to keep the caps very very full. also, try to preclean your pump by syringing some solution through it so it doesn't get dried out.
  15. 1204 Stopped printing M in middle of job. Need some advice!

you must have bumped a data cable while pulling a damper. the printer can't recognize what damper is where. turn off your machine, turn it off from the back, unplug it, and then hit the front switch four times. at the point the printer is empty of latent static charge. then make sure you...
  16. Test Print- Missing Cyan most of the time

so the cyan immediately starves itself? pull that cyan and stick it to another head adapter nipple. see if the cyan wants to print from say the magenta position. if it does, it's a vacuum issue, if it won't print from any position, it is a resistant supply. it's probably supply (clogged...
  17. head drying?

i'd first just fill them and see fi the fluid holds, the pumps might have stopped in a closed position. i've heard there is a way to make this happen. i'm not that clever. otherwise, you can put a mini c-clamp on the line above the pump, or pull a union going to the pump and plug that. if...
  18. head drying?

close off the pump lines and fill the caps with cleaning solution, and repark the heads. check on it every once in a while to make sure the cap is holding the fluid.
  19. 1204 Stopped printing M in middle of job. Need some advice!

okay.... when ink drops out, it is discussed as starvation. your print head isn't clogged, there is just this lack of flow. the flow of ink depends on two things, supply and vacuum. the supply side is a siphon. in your printer the ink is balanced on a very delicate siphon (toward the print...
  20. Things must be getting worse out there

@JohnL i've got contacts right now in dubai, and singapore. i can only start studying the fabrication methods, material styles, etc and start adapting. as far as marketing, i just plan on submitting my work to architectural firms, design firms, etc in due time. and put my stuff up against...
