i have the same machine and have trouble cutting 3.5mil vinyl w/ 5 mil polycarbonate usually if i cut twice it will go through

we use it but i do have to do some adjusting to fine tune the price but on the good side i don't think it is ever too low some times way too high

we don't do much paper but i did do some posters a few months ago and used the roland paper that came with our machines and it worked good (they say it is free with purchase of their machine but i think it is somewher buried in the price they are not fooling me)

we use adobe illust. , sign engine and photoshop with versa works on both our sp300v and vp540 no problems as of yet (1 year on the sp300 and 6 months on the vp540)

i did my sp300 and no problem then i updated my vp540 and i could not get on my network any more so i restored the computer to about a week before and now i can get on the network again not sure if it was the update or what

use the vector magic very little for you to do except upload your file the illust. version has a lot more settings you have to fool with and maybe i am just not that good at using it maybe vector magic is saving all the logos we up load and the sell them on the side

the trace option starts with ver. CS2 anything before that doesn't offer the vector option

i have used that vector magic and i think it does a better job than illust. but if you have to use illust. do what ed said i wonder how mush longer that vector magic will be around and free it looks like it is some kind of educational thing i think it is through stanford univ.

we have a sp300 and we liked it so much that 6 months later we bought the vp540 quality about the same but alot faster we havn't had any problems (knock wood)
