  3. Couple of Questions on Fonts

I forgot all about these guys... Church art works . Great sight to check out . They carry a line of fonts from one way out fonts. Grungy and fun. Not exactly for your standard sign. http://www.churchartworks.com/font.html
  4. Pc-60

Yes. Good for cutting vinyl and small occasional print work, and I stress small and occasional. Expensive to print. The good part is that it's resin based so you can get 5 years without fade. The 60 as opposed to the 600 uses more ribbon (yes ribbon). If you are just printing 1 - 4" decal...
  5. Indesign

Agree. Seems like they haven't changed anything since I went to college 12 years ago!! But as a Johnny come lately, Quark 7 will now introduce transparencies and true feathered drop shadow capabilities. Wonder where they got that idea from? Quark is nice and simple, but my opinion is...
  6. Photoshop for Brochures

Quark and Indesign are both Print Shop friendly. Quark is fairly cut and dry, seems like it hasn't changed much in a decade. Indesign takes Quarks basic idea and adds all the wistles and bangs, with stuff like transparencies and drop shadows. If you needed stuff like this done in Quark, you...
  7. Open-Type fonts

I know that you can convert fonts from mac to pc format via a font converter program (download.com) , and if that's the case, can opentype be converted to ttf on a pc level? I don't know, just hoping someone else may know more than I do.
  8. Avg. Accounts Receivable - HOW MUCH?

How DO you post a poll? I can see the section about how many poll results you want, but I don't see how you can specify what each of those results state.
  9. roland sp-540v cutting capabilities?

NOOO!!! In theory, you could probably hack the hell out it to a basic shape, but this falls under the same catagory as using a laptop to hammer a nail. Why? You'll destroy it and will be buying another one soon. I'm really surprised that you would've spent this much money on a machine...

  14. $$$ can there be a decent income $$$

My old shop is that way right now. Owner is trying to sell and is giving the potential buyer inflated financial statements. The buyer is smart enough to realize this and has told my old boss that when he wants to give him a REAL financial statement, then they'll talk. My old boss could've...
  15. how to make an outline around letters

would this be a true "noded" outline? For example, in corel you can make an outline by making the line thickness bigger OR doing a true contour. The contour would be cuttable on a vinyl cutter and the thick outline would not.
  16. corel is crap!

Corel is Crap-tabulous!!! Love it! Thats all i use.
  17. Top 5

  18. need some help here

don't do the 60 or 600. their cost per sq ft is outrageous. I'm thinking 5 to 8 your cost. Plus the ribbons break constantly. Great for small color decals. thats it. maybe we had a lemon, but a ribbon was breaking about 10% of the prints.
  19. Gaterfoam letters and designs

Gatorfoam? I just use regular hand tools. Jigsaw and scroll saw. If you jigsaw it, you'll need to take sandpaper to it after its cut. Love this board, but hate the foam chunks. You keep finding this crap days after.
  20. Croping....?

You are referring to contour cutting, not cropping. I have a GX-24 that does it also. It will read registration marks and then contour cut using a cut file that YOU HAVE MADE. It doesn't automatically find the outside of the picture, it uses a cutting file. It just reads the marks to...
