  1. Vector Logo Locating

I know most people here are aware of Brands of the World, etc, but if you cannot find it there - many times vector formats of logos are available on the internet embedded in PDF files. First, find out the website of the company that you're looking for. Then, do a Google Search. Type in...

  3. FC8000, CM3, Mark Scan Errors...

We were doing the same thing. Since I figured it out we've been using CM3 without any issues and cutting has been spot-on. It certainly saves a lot of time and headache!
  4. small vinyl cut decals

For small projects like that I try to avoid weeding as much as possible, the very low surface area leads to the decals peeling off. I print the graphics onto clear vinyl with the Edge and cut a rectangle or custom shape around the piece.
  5. Looking for ADA and Title 24 signs

grimco should have them in stock.
  6. Retroreflective vinyl recommendations

retroreflective = reflective = engineer grade (regular reflective) it can be prismatic, or non-prismatic; however prismatic cannot be solvent printed or plotter cut high intensity prismatic, diamond grade, conspicuity tape, etc reflect more light, but are very hard to cut and do not like to...
  7. Partial Wrap with detailed contour cutting

I did one like that on an HHR. We used application tape and put down the larger/flat areas first, then removed the tape from the tricky contoured areas and installed them with only a few small pieces flopping around... I don't have a photo of it, but I do have the proof artwork.
  8. What material is this

I'm going to go with phototex also.
  9. Cut Master Error in Corel

Is the communication language on the Graphtec set correctly? (mine is set to auto, but I use Illustrator)
  10. Where to purchase 3m reflective dots

FirehouseDecals.com Tell Jay I sent you his way. The DiamonDiamonds are much nicer IMHO than the dots. Not sure if this link works for you or not, but I have a gallery of a few trucks I've done this way: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.545920335419124.126560.115086121835883&type=3...
  11. Spots in foil - print head issue?

I've ran across a couple rolls of Gerber 280 White reflective recently that have similar defects; raised and lowered points at random in the material. Normally the defective area doesn't run for long enough to be a major problem and/or we use that area for just cut striping.
  12. Spots in foil - print head issue?

Blow all of the dust away from the printer, then clean the printer head, then check again for more dust. It looks like dust on the vinyl to me. Normally when the print head is dirty it is more of a "streak" going in a straight line.
  13. Removal of old bus graphics

3M Woodgrain and Stripe Remover is your friend when you run into the removal projects that turn into nightmares... it's probably banned in some states for being toxic; but it is amazing sometimes when the vinyl only wants to come off in small slivers. I've seen other products advertised recently...
  14. printed sticker.. need help :(

A Gerber Edge printer would do the same thing.
  15. New 3M Mystery Material?

I spoke with the owner of the company, they are just using 680CR and taking a whole day to conform it to the surface texture.
  16. Boxing Gym Logo

VERY nice and to the point
  17. Graphtec 60" MAX Cut Width Question?

post up a pic of what you're cutting
  18. Reflective colors match

You need to invest in Pantone Color Charts if you do not have them already, your suppliers should sell them. The specific chart that would help you in this case is the Pantone Color Bridge; it has spot color swatches beside the CMYK swatches. Hold up the spot color swatches and pick the closest...
  19. Cutting master 2

Do you not have a 15" plotter currently working to get the best registration? (like an envision?) You'll never get as accurate of registration from a graphtec as you get from the gerber plotter. 1st - Change our plotter language settings to AUTO 2nd - design your file(s) in Illustrator, or...
  20. Help needed to figure a price...

$1000 seems reasonable for a box truck wrap of this size on a regular day. If it is on a weekend, a holiday weekend; he probably expects to pay much more (or AT LEAST that) for the install. I think he is using the wrong materials also, but YMMV. If they aren't charging more than that to the...
