  1. Sheet Metal Shear

Can you cut some 3mm ACM (Dibond) and show us a shot of the cut edge?
  2. What to use for strips on new backlit faces when using Polycarbonate?

I'm changing a bunch of faces for backlit signs. Replacing the acrylic with polycarbonate. In the past to make the strips that hang in the frame I've used polycarbonate scraps and drilled and screwed. Does anyone have a better way? Is there a glue for this like there is for acrylic? And the job...
  3. New Merchant Member Introducing myself.

When I say "dust free" I'm referring to a wheeled cutter such as a Fletcher. It has rolling wheels to cut the polymetal, although the Sawtrax design ACM cutter would be much closer to yours If you could adapt something like this to it, you'd multiply your market here ten fold...
  4. New Merchant Member Introducing myself.

Looks like it's well made. If you can make a dust-free polymetal attachment or make someone else's fit that thing I'd buy one and send you a bottle of Canadian Whisky. Although for a couple extra bucks plywood would look so much better than osb

  10. how to prep bare aluminum

Aside from coro being a ridiculous substrate choice for a job like that what on earth could they have prepped it with to make it fail like that; Vaseline?
  11. Changing my business name...some advice from insiders....

Personally, what I DO NOT like in business names: 1) Using your name, or initials of the owners. ie: Bob's Signs or B&T Signs 2) I HATE the word "Solutions" in either the name or tagline. Not sure why.I just hate it 3) I also think "clever" spelling changes are unimaginative and cheesy. ie...

  16. Partial vehicle wrapping around door edges

Make two cuts. One along each edge. Use the door as a guide for the blade, but angle the blade AWAY from the edge. It will give you just enough material to wrap it a little around the edge and will not show the metal if it's a contrasting colour. Justin Pate's DVDs are a good start. And...
  17. Argument for latex? Especially for home based business..

I love reading facts stated about products from people who have never owned or used them. First of all: Eco-Solvent- I have a Roland SP300V in my HOME for three years. Fumes are NOT an issue. If you're printing a large area of dark ink you may get a faint smell. I have also had my printer sit...
