  1. 53' Trailer Wrap

It is always nice to keep it inhouse for a job like this even though it is tons of work you have more control over it. Although outsourcing to a larger company is appealing time and money wise I stopped doing it after a 53' outsourced trailer that needed to be fixed was sent back to the same...
  2. Watch out New York sign makers!!!

He needs to stick to bikes and grills. That looks like crap especially for someone who sees himself as a celebrity designer, the logo is amateurish at best. Thanks, Kurt
  3. Thoughts on Orajet 3551RA for boat wrap??

Not only because it isn't cast some say Rapid Air style of vinyls aren't good for marine applications due to the air channels and water getting into them. Not sure if this is true or not but I have heard other voice this concern in the past. Thanks, Kurt
  4. Please read if your are considering Arlon GTX

Ok, I have had the same problem not only with the 4560 GTX but the 6000 as well. I was using fully to spec as well as allowing the proper outgassing. Almost ever job I have done with these vinyls they had to be redone. It's funny didn't have anything come back when using the other materials. I...
  5. Nascar Nationwide Series Numbers

You might want to consult a rulebook. At one time they had dimension requirements as well as requirements on contrast and strokes etc... Thanks, Kurt
  6. Any idea on how to accomplish this?

I received an order for some printed postcards (8.5"x11") on Friday for Monday. Doesn't seem logical. I have artwork and files ready to go and was trying to figure out anyway to get this accomplished? Anyone use the big box stores for any of this? I went to Kinkos this morning and they said...
  7. Another what would you do scenario

I would tell them they are out of luck. there are to many "designers" out there without a clue that get themselves into trouble and expect an easy bailout. What if they desinged the stuff and you printed it and it didn't fit or they don't like it? Tough for them... We have a disclaimer that if...
  8. Hey Advantage Sign Supply, how about carrying.....

Look in the left column they are a MM... For their vinyls and supplies they are always very reasonable and quick. For their substrates they are a bit expensive. Thanks, kurt
  9. Need some input, what would you do?

  10. Mimaki Get Off your A--.

Very good idea. I don't have a problem ordering from anyone as long as I know they are legit. Thanks, Kurt
  11. Mimaki Get Off your A--.

While I agree some parts are getting cheaper and it is cheaper to get them from China it is becoming harder to find reputable places to get them. I am sure over time they will go down but a 50 - 75% increase in 3 years is ridiculous at best. I can only imagine some folks are finding it better...
  12. Need some input, what would you do?

Yeah I know. I am always leery when buying them. Just seemed odd it went from printing perfectly to not the next print after the apparent headstrike. Maybe I am overreacting... Thanks, Kurt
  13. Need some input, what would you do?

Yeah I did a 90 minute nozzle was followed by a strong wash and a couple of normal washes. Still there, exact same spot. Any other ideas you might think I could try for it? Visibly it doesn't look damaged but it is not printing great by any means. Thanks, Kurt
  14. Need some input, what would you do?

Ok, so this week I had to have a head replaced in my Mimaki. No biggie. Called a merch member up here who was very helpful and got the part overnighted and everything was grand. My certified tech came this morning an put it in. Everything was good, we where chatting and I was going back and...
  15. Hey Advantage Sign Supply, how about carrying.....

  16. Mimaki Get Off your A--.

Good story. I have to say I love my Mimaki as well but the rate parts prices are climbing for these things it is only a matter of time. three years ago a head was $700.00, now $1,500. What gives? Thanks, Kurt

  19. Cast w/cal?

Yes it is. You can use cast lam on cal vinyl typically without any problems but you may have problems with what you are doing. Thanks, Kurt
  20. Prices on website?

Exactly, I agree 100%. It is awful hard to put a price on something that is custom each time. Sure if you are selling plotters or rolls of vinyl pricing is a bit easier, if you are selling a custom made advertising piece how do you put a base price on this? I don't like putting pricing on...
