oh, and another weird thing I noticed about the LS is, when I save the file name "thefilename.plt, it will save it as "the_file_name.plt- strange. Well, I like the 30.00 idea for now. thanks!!

ok, since I am now a home business. I tend to design more in the house, on the Layout station, then e-mail the file to myself in the office, about 20'away. I double click on the file, and Composer opens-if I have to make any changes etc. The next day, when I go to open the file, I can't locate...

sending as a tiff, might be your problem, I usually will set up as a jpeg,or just leave as is, then when you send it to the edge, there is a check box to change it to a cmyk. If you want to send me the file, I'll take a looksy at it. Ill pm my e-mail addy.

I generally import the image, but if it crappy to begin with, it really doesn't matter what setting you use, it will still look all pixelated etc. And if you got this from a graphic designer(sorry been there, they don't know everything)that is probably your problem right there...

thats alot of pressure you have on there..have you tried a new blade?? I tried everything under the sun, then finally took a good look at blade(was ready to ship to plotter dr.)there was a nick in it, and it would not connect the letters... put in a new blade, and could not believe I was that...

you should check out 4edgetalk.com, and do a search. I "think" they go for 400 or so, it did for edge1 many years ago. I bought from Gerber, and they walked me thru the install.

I would never go back to GA-yikes, that was a dinosaur compared to the various features now. 1.5 worked for me, with serial port adapter-to usb I'd try that first.

could try a MBX, do search but Fellers sells it...kind of costly 400 or so, but seriously cut my frustration level in half, and rapid remover will remoce remaider of glue, but really isnt much left agter vinyl is grinded down. And definitely price by the hour....
