  2. Flexi 7.5 and Importing Illustrator Files

Try right clicking on the selected file and "unmask" or "release clipping mask", you may have to do it several times, then you can ungroup as well.
  3. I don't like banding!

Hi. Found another profile to use w/ 720x720, prints look good. As for the "blinds"-effect- along the center of the prints were a set of street-lights......... And water reflecting..... The silly canned icc-profile made the reflections from these lights brighter.... I should have tried to...
  4. Flexisign rip log error

Don't really know, but I think only Flexisign 8.5 is compatible w/ Vista, and it's not even out yet. Try it on a computer with XP...
  5. I don't like banding!

These lines were printed without the take-up reel, and with good slack on it when the reel was connected, so no, not too tight there. Also, we purchased a mask.... Charcoal filter, these SS2 fumes are NOT healthy!!! Yes, the unit is vented directly to the outside of the building, both top...
  6. I don't like banding!

Of course I should have mentioned that the test print was perfect. Is a cleaning cycle necessary if the test print is OK? The profile I was using specified 360x540. I will try a different media, and play with the settings. Also, when I print the 2 grey bands for feed calibration, when it's...
  7. I don't like banding!

We've been playing with our new Mimaki JV3, finally got it to print nice... Then went to print a job, 12' long print, at first it looked like we were looking through blinds!?? lighter areas every inch or so. Started over with 6 pass in stead of 12 pass, unidirectional, now at least it...
  8. Mutoh ValueJet 1204 (HELP)

Just wonderin' - Is your pump / capping station maybe clogged also? This happened on our brand new Mimaki when the tech (!) was showing us how to maintain it... To find out- pour some cleaning liquid into the capping station and start the cleaning cycle... If nothing comes out- take it...
  9. wireless on a jv3?

When the JV3 was new, I think 10 mb ethernet was all they had, USB was 1.1, not much better, where as firewire was (and still is) the fastest, except GB lan, which has just recently come out. The Sp is just a souped up S, guess they didn't want to do too many modifications- If it works, dont...
  10. What's the best plotter on the market?

Check e-bay for a used Summa t plotter, if your budget is "cheapie". We have a 8-year old SummaSign T140 with OPOS, highly recommended, wish it had USB though... Does not look like it will wear out for the next 10 years.
  11. Mimaki JV3 and FlexiSign 7.6.2 setup?

Anyone else with suggestions? I tried different profiles for several different media, trouble is most profiles are for dual CMYK. Also found that if you set "error diffusion" and fmxpress is embedded in the profile, things look really bad... Looks like I need to surrender and buy some...
  12. Printouts

Chek in the rip and print, it says "print labels", even has a little window where you can type in what you want (or try in the PM, default job settings) (We still have 7.6.2, waiting for a refund on 8) Manual sucks btw... Signs101 much better:U Rock:
  13. anyone using a pen tablet?

We have a small Wacom Graphire, I'm no good at it, but my wife doesn't even have a mouse hooked up to the computer, the pen is all she uses, she maintains it's a fantastic tool, just have to get used to it. I don't do any design stuff, I'm just the guy trying to keep the printers and computers...
  14. wireless on a jv3?

I think you can add a hub, and then you can have 2x4.5 m. I have seen this type setup, but don't know where to get it. Comp USA? Radioshack? As for wireless- I don't think I would trust it to be reliable enough even if I could make it work.
  15. Mimaki JV3 and FlexiSign 7.6.2 setup?

Thanks! But, how do you set up the input-icc-profiles and rendering intent etc? - how is that stuff set? Should not matter if it's 4 or 6-color. There's a bunch of parameters in the rip I don't know how to set. Figured it was best to get this stuff set before starting to modify the icc profiles?
  16. Mimaki JV3 and FlexiSign 7.6.2 setup?

Well- Big Day! Finally got our brand new JV3-160SP in the door, and actually got it to print also! 6-color plus white setup. (CMYKcmWW) Now, of course the colors were WAY off, then downloaded icc profile from SA website for Oracal 3651, 6 color, and printed on Oracal 651, but colors from a...
  17. Sticky Situation

Is there a way to load it into the mimaki, and force-run it onto the take-up-roller? (Just rolling it through the printer with the pinch wheels up...) Don't know if this is a good idea, but sure a lot less work than using the laminator...
  18. Flexi 8

Not sure what the Sign-God wants... We live in a rural area with lots of sheep, maybe a little lamb would do the trick at the times when we're ready to pour gas on the PC and light a match? PS- Just kidding! But- the goat thing DID work for Nepal airlines... (Do a search on internet, I did not...

Maybe this would help? Airline sacrifices goats to appease sky god Wed Sep 5, 2007 2:22AM EDT .KATHMANDU (Reuters) - Officials at Nepal's state-run airline have sacrificed two goats to appease Akash Bhairab, the Hindu sky god, following technical problems with one of its Boeing 757...
