I figure out my costs and suppliers BEFORE I quote or take on a job. This is a little backwards - learn from this one if it doesn't put you out of business. ;-) (that's a joke if you can't tell)
Grow some thicker skin and chill out Charlie - Some may be a little harsh but they are all trying to...
If an sp cuts fast to you then you must have a slow stand alone cutter as well! The sp series Roland is s s s s s l l l l l l l l l o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o w!
You would be crazy to use a print/cut combo machine for cut only. The time it takes alone would drive you out of business...not to mention the wear and tear on the printer. You will still need a stand alone cutter even if you get a combo printer.
Steve,
It CAN be profitable BUT it takes quite a bit of effort, education, experience, risk and longevity to build your business toward being profitable...especially a wrap business. I am not saying that YOU can not build a profitable business, BUT I have seen many more attempt and fail than...
Thanks guys!
This customer is very picky and will pay to get what he wants - anything close to what I need is not close enough - these must be the actual model and style of car.
I will check with vector Doctor but is there anyone else who may be willing to take the time to create vector...
I'm having trouble finding some classic automobile vectors for a customer who wants one color die cut versions of his personal cars on his car hauler along with a checkered flag stripe. I thought it sounded like an easy job but now I am wishing I had sold him the wrap and cropped out actual pics...
Welcome...
A ton of people have BS degrees around here! hahaha
Don't worry about the school designation - "class" or lack thereof is revealed in posts - this will become painfully obvious very soon. ;-)
Welcome...build a new face! You don't want to be stripping old vinyl on a roof unless it is flat. ;-)
Charge time and material on removal...the last time I quoted a flat amount to strip a box truck I got killed. It took three of us twice as long as quoted.
Probably,er...definitely a head if you have cleaned and adjusted line pitch until you were blue. ;-)
Send it off to Camm Tech and let him go through it. I think that is his name - he's a great guy and knows his pc-60's! It's been so long since I used him...I think he has even posted here on...
That's what I was eluding to earlier. I had to do the same thing about a year ago and I had a tech walk me through it. I wish I could be more help on how to do it but I simply don't remember how.
If you are good with design you can sub out the printing and laminating to a wholesaler then install yourself. Do your homework and keep a good attitude. Your attitude in this biz will make you or break you...especially around here! LOL
To answer your question,
Yes, I have subbed out print...
Sorry to hear that CJ.
I thought the capping stations would take care of the problem. I know just enough to be dangerous...do you need to reset the head parking position?
