  1. So tired of customers not realizing the value

when someone balks at the thought of giving up a budget... say you're thinking it might be $500 - $600... just say: "hmm, no idea huh? ...ok, well just to get the conversation started, let's assume you have around $600 - $700 to spend, i think we could... at this point, they don't want...
  2. setting up the rip to print

here's his list of threads he started. You can look at a members profile & click on statistics to see links to all posts, or threads they started. (I'm not familiar with the topic, but maybe you can find some good info... I do agree he is a good resource for info on wraps)
  3. Increase your portfolio

+1 gotta agree there! Hoping he come back & shows us a "customized" version...
  4. what is that thing?

but wait... maybe put a finger puppet on it... like Teri's bunny in her signature... or a Jack-in-the-Box styro ball... then maybe it won't look weird :omg: well ok, maybe it still would, but could you really look jack in the eye & carry out that sentence? ...and the Queen of Hearts says...
  5. what a customer think they need vs. what is most effective.

I know I speak for a lot of the others (like, but not necessarily including Jon and Maniac) when I say... "we are glad there are guys like Fatboy and Sebastian who just don't get it... ...because those clueless loser clients who want crap will keep looking until they find someone willing to...
  6. Increase your portfolio

good looking stuff! who has taken advantage of this already? Can you post a link to some other sign shop's customized version, so we can see how much it looks like it's not you, but it's them?
  7. setting up the rip to print

like bearwen, I use photoshop to set my panels, and flexi to print them, but I'm not familiar with the slice tool. I'll post how I do it & hopefully if I check back, I can be shown a better way if someone has one. (I don't fully understand Bearwen's method) let's say it is a box truck 100" tall...
  8. what is that thing?

ding ding ding!!! Dave's is the closest answer in my opinion... and correct at that, but for a specific form of handling... I bought one of those for a client, and what you can barely see in the photo is that it has a round base. To make sire it doesn't easily blow over, or get bumped &...

  11. Why asking for spot white?

Sorry to say this, but in my honest (& somewhat educated) opinion, if you knew everything there is to know about the PC600 already, and could run it in your sleep.... AND if you were independently wealthy & only made signs for fun... there would STILL be almost NO reason that you could come up...
  12. Fish Tacos Logo

hmm.. well, maybe ya wanna look at who's thread it was & find out if they've replied (hint... post 80)
  13. Wondering how many would be interested...

I think it goes back to an observation Michael Gerber makes in his E-Myth publications. Many small business owners find themselves in the role of business owner with only the background of being what he calls "a technician" meaning someone who has become quite proficient (perhaps through prior...
  14. External drive

did you restart the computer after changing USB ports? I'm far from an expert on this stuff... if fact I'm below average among some of the talent around here... but as a wild guess, I would restart the computer while it's plugged into the port you plan to run it from & see if it finds it in the...

did it come with a disc?
  16. Dry vs Wet Install & a thanks to iSign

you may have used more then you need, and you also may leave behind more then you need if not applying firm squeegee pressure, but it absolutely works. Done it for 2 decades.
  17. Eco Solvent Inks under Fiberglass (surfboard) Resin?

surfboard laminates have been made on rice paper forever. The rice paper can be hacked into any old shape & then the unprinted background and edge simply disappears into the glass, as it is so porous. I've silkscreened them for years, but I did run a batch on an old HP5000 which worked fine...

  19. Dry vs Wet Install & a thanks to iSign

NOTE: Bigdawg has changed the original link. (thanks) Not that the video is of any earth shattering importance to folks, but for any who did want to view it, at least a safe location is now being pointed to, while I fight back against the hackers. oh... almost forgot this morning was my first...

BUMMER.. I have remained very proud of my website, in appearance, and the benefits it provides, so I also praised the website development work quite a bit at that time. Although this sort of attack is no reflection on my company or the web development company, I'll leave his name out this...
