  1. Employees Are The Worst

I'll give you an "Employees" perspective. Are you offering a fair wage? If you're only offering minimum wage... The same goes for employees as it does in the sign world, you get what you pay for. My current company has 20 or so people. There's a few of us making $20 an hour, and we're the ones...
  2. News Carbon Theme Is Back With More Functionality Enhancements!

Looks good, thanks! Is there (Or can there) Be a way for users to turn off the hashtags? I've always had a deep hatred for twitter and hashtags for some reason... and I'm finding it a bit annoying that every other word in a post is bold, orange, and a link. I do like the idea of it, and...
  3. Best Price For 24" X 50 Yards 3m 7125

Why did they decline? When I applied, I was honest. Told them I only own a plotter, and it's a side business, and would likely buy a printer in the future... And they signed me up right away. Since then, I've purchased another plotter, printer, and laminator, totaling 25K from them. The rep...
  4. Best Price For 24" X 50 Yards 3m 7125

Have you tried 3M Directly? We usually buy most our stuff direct. We do order 10-15 different rolls of stuff though, and it takes a long time to get to us since it comes from USA, gets delivered to the Canada warehouse, then comes to us (We're in Canada). Might not be worth it / able to if you...
  5. Graphic/logo Designer

I'm with vector doctor on this. Some of his tats are way, way too pixelated to fix. You'd need someone to re-illustrate them... and it wont be exact, they'll be based on what they "think" it should look like. who made the file for the customer? see if he can get the original artwork used to...
  6. Anyone Use One Of These Manual Laminators?

We have a couple of different ones, no idea the brand. We use it for applying sign faces to aluminum, whenever our rolls roller is too busy. We have some with hard rolls... and some with soft squishy rolls. I don't know how good laminating would be on it... But for this price, it's worth it...
  7. Need Help Onyx 12?

You can download onyx 12.1 as a trial. Works for a couple of weeks... and it copies over all your settings from previous onyx. I'd say give that a try, see if it fixes your issues or not before upgrading. I will say..12.1 rips 5-10x faster than 10/11 rips... so it may be worth it just for that...
  8. Onyx Cut Server + Cutter Settings

Annnd I'm an idiot. I was overlooking a setting. For the future incase anyone needs to know... I figured it out right after hitting send  In cut server, under layer / Setting... You can change it to manual/device, instead of default. Just like I thought, it was in the easiest, most...
  9. Onyx Cut Server + Cutter Settings

Hello again! I had another question about the new onyx (Surprise, surprise). The only thing that's still getting me is the cut settings. On onyx 10, It'd use whatever condition our graphtec is on. The new onyx lets you pick which condition it should be on, and auto turns it to that...
  10. Hello. Anyone Know The Maximum Time For Laminition Using Roland Truvis Ink And Ecosolmax 2?

Probably. It varies... Some people do it right after it comes off the printer and swears they have no problems, some wait. You'll get 50 different answers to when should you laminate if you ask here. Generally you're safe doing it as soon as it doesn't feel tacky... But I'd only do that in...
  11. Cutting Lots Of Coreflute

I havent even though of it for backslitting, but I imagine you'd need a very, very flat table. All our matts are kind of like cushions... with how thin vinyl is, I'd think you'd cut through in some parts. I think the adjustable part is mainly so you can cut coro / etc, and then shrink it down...
  12. Cutting Lots Of Coreflute

How is the cuttari any different than Mondo Trimmer ? I'm presuming its better quality, but generally the thing that breaks on these is the rolling part... which with the mondo you can buy replacements for, for $10. I've never used either, and plan on getting a mondo... Unless you can convince...
  13. I Hate This Customer

    Pain in the ass
  14. Hp Fb500 Color

Did you get a chance to test this yet? I scanned all the swatches, but haven't had a chance to play with the advanced settings, or print anything, as we've mainly been focusing on our roll to roll machine. After doing a profile for the roll to roll (It's a lot more complicated than just...
  15. Window Perf... Laminate?

How come? (Genuinely asking). We only perf some temp graphics in the summer... Maybe 30-40 town halls / citi centers, We always laminate with optically clear, but we've never edge sealed it. We also do the local hospital, that one stays up for a good 6-8 months, then we go and change it to...
  16. Need Advice For "white" Reflective

The watermarks on 7930 are a pain. I really dont see why they do it. My company tried to do real estate signs with 7930 instead of 3290 (They were told 3290 is eventually being phased out). And the customers sent it right back. Even if you can't see it unless your a FT away, it looks kind of...
  17. Hp Fb500 Color

Our FB500 sucks at red also. The best red we found was (25,100,90,0) but it's still a little orange. We just got a Xrite to do a custom profile, but I havent got around to it... I'll let you know if it helps with reds, though I doubt it. I'm hoping to get it done today. Someone mentioned...
  18. Color Management

In that case, don't worry about it. All solvent / eco solvent will have graininess. It's normal, laminate makes it a little less noticable... But you'll still notice it. Next time your at the store or mall, take a look at the posters / signs there. I used to think our printer was bad (50,000...
  19. Color Management

Is this your first printer? If it is, you have to understand images tend to be somewhat grainy on solvent/latex images. Grainy enough that if you look at them from an inch away, you'll notice it. The images you posted seem fine, Colors are a little off... but thats typical unless you do color...
  20. Prep Corrugated Plastic For Led Uv Printing

I suggest Chipotle. Though it's probably pretty adventurous for the first timer. :p On a related note... I agree. It all depends on the printer and printer inks. If your using cheap coro... that could also be the reason why. Just like everything else, you get what you pay for - And to help...
