I don't see why someone who does vinyl crafts needs full rolls of vinyl. If anything, sell it to them by the sqft... and double what you pay. Your customers could also be trying to figure out how much you pay for vinyl, so they can see how "inflated" your prices are.

I'd bet more it's onyx, and not the printers. HP came with a free copy of a different rip, did it not? I'd install that and try. I know our older onyx version gives us a ton of issues, so if yours isn't the newest I'd consider that. You could also try to rasterize the file and print it that way.
