I click "save as" and choose Ai. Then I can choose from Illustrator 88 all the way up to CS3. Then I can choose Mac or PC, convert text to curves and other choices. What versions of Corel does Illustrator save to? (I notice people often complain that Corel doesn't save well to Ai and wondered...

Not uppity... just incredulous. Canada is bigger than the US... We only have 1/10th the population of the US but it's spread over a larger area. To suggest that Canadians must use Corel more because it is a "local" company blows me away. I have a copy (CS4) that I use to send files to my...

I no longer do it wet. I made a bunch of big squeegees and it's so much better than wet it's not funny. I even made a 10" one for a job doing 30 small exit signs. The few minutes spent making the squeegee were well worth the time saved on that one job. Doing it dry is way faster and the...

I'm pretty sure we don't all live in PA. I know I don't. I also know that I have a business permit to operate out of my home. And insurance. And a fire extinguisher. Heck I even got a small grant from the government to build my shop... beside my home. Not all places are as backwoods when it...

Jim is right. Post an avy that's cute and girly and you'll get a free pass. Decal girl is probably a fat 45 year old dude with 3 teeth named Bubba. (Not the teeth.. the dude) I suspect Decal girl may even be an experiment to see if this double standard is true. (probably not but it would be...

Neat what you can do with an old flat file ground to an edge. Always a pleasure to watch someone who knows what they're doing.
  15. 3 handmade signs for an amusement park

Yup. I used a snap off blade box cutter for the lettering on the pizza sign. The other signs had different lettering and I used a 1" wide carpenters chisel and a 1/2" bent chisel along with the box cutter on them.
