  1. Graphtec Craft Robo Pro (CE5000)

The FC series has that option but I don't think the CE series has that option...if I remember correctly. Does it run the entire roll off or roll 6', stop and then start cutting?
  2. sub out color print pricing?

Welcome, Why use a local shop when you have such a great selection of merchant members here at signs101? Don't forget to have them laminated. The object is to get them produced as cheap as possible and sell for as high as possible. ;-)
  3. is this any good

Can't answer your question about the cadcam but it sounds like you did much better then purchasing a piece of junk plotter. Now you have a decent start. Good Luck and continue to do your research...you are in for a long learning curve.

Welcome from the corn fields of the Mid West!
  5. Just introducing myself

  7. Starting out!

We use a ton of red, black and white. Although, you have nothing to objectively determine what you will find will become common for you - I'd imagine that every shop is different. Starter kits are just that - a little bit more than "nothing". No matter what plotter you get you can just purchase...
  8. Starting out!

A versacamm is very good but you cannot use it for plotting with any amount of production. It is just plain SLOW! You will need a stand alone cutter even if you have a versacamm. Outsource prints until you build your business up to printing in house as there are many additional costs incurred...
  9. Moving an SP-540 with bulk ink system

There is a blue clamp that comes with the printer to lock the head. On the versacamm you attach it onto the rear of the printer for safekeeping. When you move the printer your reuse it to lock the head to keep it from moving.

  13. Air Bubbles

Time and temperature cycles OR redo. By the way...welcome!
  14. Banner Hemming

I agree with (hr!$ (man, that's a pain to type) ;-) Every two feet IS overkill. We have a couple of rolls of prehemmed and grommeted banner material for die cut vinyl which has grommets every two foot but that is so you have numerous places to cut off the roll without losing a lot to waste.
  15. Have your ever checked your inks?

Get a bulk system...it's worth the initial investment.
  16. sort of new guy from O H .. I O

    Welcome anyway!
  17. Banner Hemming

YES! Hem the banner if it is going outside. We only will allow a banner to go out the door un-hemmed if it is an indoor banner. The edges tend to roll up a little with some time unless it is installed really tight. I have some indoor banners I printed with no hems I'm looking at right now that...
  18. Job boards and tickets

I think a merchant membership may be in order... Good Luck!
  19. Merry Christmas

I'm mad at you for rubbing it in!!! ;-) I'm still stuck with the 30" - I was upgrading a couple of months ago but an investment in a different direction is holding my money hostage now. Oh so very soon...I hope! I am using triangle mld bulk ink and love them but honestly I don't really see a...
