  1. Repair advice/help

That is what I was getting at. If the circuitry is fine, and current is verified to the motor, then the motor will be bad.
  2. Repair advice/help

How did you rule out the controller?
  3. Anyone ever seen this before?

JMDigital: It is not a stupid question. Something I learned from early on. With plotters, there are two types of motors The better of the two, found in the better machines are called servo motors. Much more accurate, greater longevity, etc. etc. Stepper motors, are like a screw-drive...
  4. Anyone ever seen this before?

They call it a "Diamond-Graver", and I had one that fit my old Ioline. Yes, it does work, and the force doed not need to go very high, ALTHOUGH you will not cut like a router. The plotter still uses the HP-GL, so fills are really out. It comes in real handy for small stuff like name plates...

  6. Trying new vid cards! got quad + 2 gigs!

Here is the bottom line. There are two major video chip manufacturers. ATI and nVidia. ATI gears towards professional businesses, and their apps. nVidia gears towards entertainment, movies and gaming. Both are good cards, but we have better luck, meaning no conflict issues with ATI. Most will...

  8. Trouble in paradise

Guys, guys - To respond to Bobo is to give him credibility. It is obvious that he chooses to hind behind an apron, so why bother. He says he has thousands, and says he is spending time - already learning more than deacdes of experience - he does not need us. Ante Ya...

  10. Reading same floppy on win xp and win 98

That is true, there are many ways that he could transfer files. The only point that I was making was that the floppy may have actually died, causing he read errors, which would not require any changes, upgrades, etc. etc. - especially on an old machine.
  11. Reading same floppy on win xp and win 98

Before you go off the wall, verify that the XP's floppy IS working. Get a couple of other floppies (disks, not drives) that you know can be read in other machines, and see if you have the "format message". Or for that matter see if a friend with an XP machine can read it. I just went through...

  13. Follow On From Im In Trouble Please Help!

Call Ron at Accugraphic 800-268-3672, because your machine sounds like it is in need of service. Other than reloading your software - there is not much else you can do. It sounds like the machine is "printing" an error - which most manufacturers will not usually release the info anyway...
  14. Importing

At the far end, you could have dongle issue. Remove it and reinsert it. SignLab will work with all of the latest updates. It sounds as if your SL has become corrupted. Reload it WITHOUT deleting and see if that helps. If it does not, uninstall SL and reload. SignLab "hanging" is usually...
  15. Help in Corel 12

Checkers - We usually skip every other release but we have to agree with Techman. X3 IS different than 12, not just one or two features but all the way around.
  16. Crashing when importing EPS files

Colin, What software and version created the eps? I am assuming these are older files, that you already made. If so, try to delete and reload the software that you are using to import. Very often, when building a new machine, the order of installation can make a huge difference, by...
  17. What is the best set up for Graphtec?

USB is just another form of serial port. Both, including parallel, offer bi-directional communication, but serial/usb is always faster - end results, though, are the same.

  20. GCC Jaguar III 61 - Troubles configuring it with my pc

When using Corel, MAKE SURE that there is no fill (color) - just the outline. As for the driver, you need to check the comunication to the port. FORGET about a complete cut file, just an X axis and a Y axis, about 75mm each (I assume that you are working in metric). By doing this you will see...
